Peglerfill:
The Combined Bath Filler & Overflow
In
the wake of the recent commercial integration between Pegler
and Yorkshire, a number of new products
are already starting to become available, including the new Peglerfill
combined bath filler and overflow system.
Branded with the Francis Pegler logo, the Peglerfill is an elegant bathroom
solution that allows the bath to be filled from the overflow, ideal for
those who do now want overhanging taps to get in the way of their bathing
experience!
The Peglerfill has been developed to function on most types of water systems
and offers an understated look to add a touch of unusual elegance to any
home. It is also possible to mix and match the Peglerfill Bath filler
with a selection of other Pegler products. Side valves and handles from
the Xia and Slique ranges can be used in conjunction with this product,
depending upon the type of look desired. Xia offers period styling with
a bit of a modern twist, whereas Slique offers a cylindrical theme perfect
for today's designer wet rooms.
Slique is particularly popular, having been ergonomically sculpted to
allow finger touch water control. The understated design makes them a
good combination for Peglerfill.
Minimum operating pressures are as low as 0.8 bar for a good fill rate
on standard baths, but with a more than acceptable flow rate at higher
pressure, Peglerfill is also suitable for the more luxurious lager bath.
The Peglerfill is also supplied with check valves fitted into either inlet
of the unit to stop any crossover of water supplies if there is an imbalance
of hot and cold operating pressures.

Volcanic

Access valves help installers cure distribution and starvation problems
in water systems.
Using Access valve to replace the standard inline isolating valve on each
service, provides not only a ball shut off valve but also an Aquaflow
water regulator to limit the maximum flow rate to a preset level, in a
choice of flow rates from 4 to18 litres per minute.
Access differs from other water saving devices by automatically compensating
for pressure fluctuations whenever other outlets in the system are used.
In practice, every outlet receives its correct supply regardless of other
users, or whether it is at the beginning or the end of a run. Access minimises
waste and water savings of 25% are not unusual.
In metered premises this reduces both water rates and sewerage charges
with additional savings in hot water generation.

Manufacturer Launches First Compact, High-Flow, Domestic Water Softener

the EU's largest manufacturer of domestic water softeners, announces a
breakthrough in water softener technology, with the launch of BIG BERTHA,
the first compact, one-inch feed, high-flow unit, designed specifically
for direct systems where three or more bathrooms need softened water at
the same time.
'The
UK's move towards direct feed systems, coupled with the huge growth in
the power-shower market and the increasing popularity of house extensions
that add extra bathrooms, have created a desperate need in the domestic
market for high capacity softeners,' says Harvey Bowden, Chairman of Harvey
Softeners.
'A half-inch (15mm) rising main supplying a traditional storage-tank system
only needs 20 litres a minute via a water softener - but a household with
a modern, direct-feed system serving more than one bathroom, needs a flow
rate of between 50 and 80 litres a minute.
'The obvious answer would be to produce a domestic softener with a one-inch
bore - but the problem for us, as manufacturers, was that a traditional
one-inch softener was as fat as a pig and as tall as a giraffe and the
only place to put it was the garage, which was unlikely to appeal to today's
customer.
'To solve this problem, we invested a great deal of time and effort into
developing a twin-cylinder, one-inch domestic softener that can serve
households of up to 20 people with up to six bathrooms - and yet still
fit comfortably under the sink. For the technically minded, the pressure
drop across the unit is a remarkable half a bar at 30 l/m, which is a
world first for unit of this size.
'The new BIG BERTHA needs no electrical supply, as it works off mains
water pressure and has a sophisticated metering system to maximise salt
efficiency. To make installation really simple, the salt cabinet is separate
from the softener and can be installed up to four metres away, allowing
the plumber to locate the softener where it‚s easiest to install
and put the cabinet where it's most convenient for the customer to re-fill
with salt.'
