Mega
Marble Launches Voluttuoso Bath at The Stone Boutique
Raphael
Mimoni, creator of Mega Marble and
The Stone Boutique, has unveiled
his latest creation, the Voluttuoso bath, created in Zodiaq® Cloud
White and Zodiaq® Vortex Black quartz stone. This beautiful
bath, hand-crafted in alternating layers of black and white stone, pushes
the boundaries of design in stone to the very limit. Stonemasons have
worked day and night to complete this finely chiselled masterpiece, whose
interior is gently curved to fit the contours of the human body.
says Raphael.
Black is back in a big way as a decorating force in our homes. Philippe
Starck has recently launched a black crystal chandelier, John Rocha has
designed a range of black wine glasses for Waterford Crystal, and Raphael
Mimoni leads bathrooms forward with his unique design for a glamorous
black and white bathroom. I drew my inspiration from a pair of black
and white Versace shoes, comments Raphael Mimoni, of his contemporary-look
bathroom, stating: glamour is back in the bathroom.
In this room setting, the Voluttuoso bath is flanked by two geometric
basins, each a mirror image of the other, set on a black and white chequerboard
floor. Half-height cladding with a contrasting dado finishes the look.
A second bathroom setting shows a wet room with the floor created in Antiqued
Nero Zimbabwe granite and rear wall in a chiselled and brushed Molianos
limestone. An underlit pebble trough and granite bench completes the display.
A seductively curved Molianos limestone bath on a limestone floor sets
the scene in a third bathroom display. A Molianos vanity unit sits behind
the bath with two Marron Imperial marble basins.
Each
of the room settings at The Stone Boutique shows the creative applications
of stone, including worktops and floors, as well as hand-crafted one-of-a-kind
baths, basins and showertrays. The room sets include stone floors, some
composed of standard module tiles, others hand-cut from slabs to provide
the ultimate in stone flooring.
Zodiaq Quartz®
The colour range for Zodiaq® quartz surfaces is available at The Stone
Boutique. Mega Marble is an approved fabricator and installer for Zodiaq®,
the decorative surfacing material from DuPont. This versatile material
is composed primarily of natural quartz giving it strength, depth, clarity
and radiance. Of the fashionable new Concrete Block collection of matt-finish
colours, Raphael Mimoni says: There has been a big demand for the
concrete look in recent months and there is huge interest in Zodiaqs
new Concrete Block collection of matt-finish colours, which are right
on trend. Whats more, Zodiaqs quartz surfaces give the strength
of granite, being 97% natural.'

Attractive
New Designs for Marbrex
Swish
Building Products has introduced three new wall
panel designs to the Marbrex decorative internal cladding system. The
new additions bring the number of wall designs in the range to 16, providing
a comprehensive choice with designs to suit most applications and tastes.
Five ceiling panels are also available.
Peach Marble is a practical and attractive colour option to the popular
Green, Grey, Beige and Dark Blue Marble ways, suitable for kitchens, bathrooms,
showers, pools and spa areas.
The new, 'Touchline' panels, available in Yellow Patchwork or Beech, are
designed to be applied to larger wall and ceiling areas, such as offices
or reception areas, and can be mounted horizontally or vertically. The

or horizontally in a number of alternative patterns.

reduce condensation. The panels have tongue and groove joints that do
not require grouting. Installation is quick and easy, taking less
than half the time required for tiling. The resulting surface is easy
to clean and does not harbour mould or germs. says the company.
Marbrex conforms to the General Hygiene Regulations, 1995 and has a Class
1 Y fire rating. It is supplied though a national network of stockists,
with a selection of fixing and finishing components. Some designs will
also accept ivory, gold or silver decorative strips to form distinctive
highlights between panels.
