month after announcing its launch into the UK bathrooms market, Alliance

Kerrera

New Flat Washstand by Alape

now offers an alternative to the traditional bowl basin design. The new
WT.RL is a flat washstand without a conventional waste. Not only flat,
the washstand is wall hung so that none of the fixtures and fittings can
be seen. ‘With clean lines and the simple but eye catching design,

Designed by architect, Jahn Lykouria, the new basin is based upon the
interior design of the bathrooms in the Post Tower in Bonn. The award
winning basins installed in this prominent building, were some of the

Technology Innovation Prize in 2003 for the original product. He based
the design on the following idea:

Compact Toilet Cistern: Individual Design, Quiet and Compact, Variable
Installation
'Anything
but a run-of-the-mill bathroom!' says the customer and hopes for some
creative ideas from the bathroom planner. But if the bathroom has a mini
floor plan, it's no easy job to come up with the optimum design. The Missel
compact toilet cistern is a solution for just such problem bathrooms.
Because the planning possibilities are universal. Thanks to the numerous
installation options – corner and diagonal installation in 30°,
45°, 60° as well as installation parallel to the wall, individual
room plans are easy to realise. One tip for renovations is the installation
of the Missel compact toilet cistern with centred foot on a bare floor,
screed or tiled finished floor. This allows the toilet to be positioned
at practically any point in the room and the drainpipe to be laid on the
side, e.g. in the floor plinth or a bathroom furnishing.
The individual design possibilities supplement a wide range of decors
of glass, stainless steel, wood and natural stone that allow you to create
your own personal design style. Since the multi-purpose flush button with
flush-stop function is placed unobtrusively on the top, the complete front
side of the cistern is free for your design.
Quiet
and compact
The installer has it in his power to determine whether loud user noises
are heard from the toilet day and night or peace reigns in the house.
Before it leaves the factory it is already fitted with highly effective
sound protection, so that the Missel compact toilet cistern guarantees
undisturbed, healthy living. Tear-resistant Missel structure-borne sound
insulating jackets that withstand even the toughest building site conditions
are used to isolate the waste water connecting bend. Structure-borne sound
insulating profiles are also included in the delivery specification for
the toilet installation. The installation sound level is thus exceptionally
low at only LIn19 dB(A). The figures for the Missel compact toilet cistern
are significantly below the German sound protection level III of VDI 4100.
A further advantage of the cistern is its compact form: with the lowest
possible space requirement of 360 x 175 mm and a minimum installation
height of 960 mm you can now use even the tiniest niche and corner for
optimum toilet comfort.
Variable installation
Installing a toilet can be a lot of work if the existing fixtures don't
match. For example, if the water connecting pipe is on the left, but the
existing feeding pipe on the right, you have to improvise and install
the pipe around the WC cistern. Installers face this problem every day
and it costs additional material and wages – and the customer more
money than is necessary.
Missel believes that this doesn't have to be the case and has fitted its
structure-borne sound-isolated Missel compact toilet cistern with universal
installation possibilities. The water connecting pipe can be installed
on either the left or right so that the existing pipes can always be used.
This greatly increases productivity on the building site. Another important
product advantage: the discharge valve is easily accessible and exchangeable
from above through the inspection opening.

- MEM Growing with People’s Requirements
With
the flat, wide outlet, Dornbracht
says that its MEM fittings embody a new, elementary aesthetic in fittings.
At the red dot award, the MEM three-hole fitting for wash stands received
the highly coveted ‘best of the best’ award for highest design
quality in the category product design 2004.
The fittings also meet Dornbracht’s standards for technical quality.
The new MEM side shower has an integrated anti-limescale system, and is
available with and without flow regulation for individual adjustment.
Other new products are the three-hole wall fittings for wash stands with
a continuous top or individual rosettes. The MEM surge inlet is a special
product for the bathtub that enables the bather to experience a torrent

Innovative technology
In the bath and shower area, MEM has now also been fitted with Dornbracht’s
well-known flush-fit techniques xStream and xTool. With a flow of up to
42 litres per minute, the flush-fit single-lever mixer enables the bather
to fill the bath very quickly and with ease – most current mixers
fill at just 26 l/min. In the shower, the high flow (38 litres per minute)
can be used for the head or hand shower and up to six side showers simultaneously.
The flush fitting is particularly small and therefore very easy to install.
Pre-fabricated flush fitting xTool also saves the need for extensive installation
planning with MEM and makes it much easier to fit in the shower. The thermostat
module consists of a central thermostat and up to three valves. This means
the user can use the head, hand and side showers independently or together.
The thermostat module facilitates a high flow even when three valves are
open and precise control of the water temperature.
