Tecnargilla 2008

Tecnargilla is the international trade fair on technologies and materials for the ceramic and terracotta industries, organised by Rimini Fiera in collaboration with Acimac, whose upcoming edition will be held from the 30th September to the 4th October 2008. According to visitors to the 2006 edition, Tecnargilla is an opportunity not to be missed: this emerges clearly from a survey conducted on a sample of over 1,000 interviewees. 98% of those questioned judged the event positively, and 88% described it as 'good' or 'excellent'. Going into further detail, 17% of the participants from outside Italy considered the 2006 edition 'excellent', 71% 'good', and 9% 'passable'.

Tecnargilla’s keys to success are: the skill and courtesy of its personnel, the way its stands and products are organised and displayed, and the overall completeness of the material on show.

Kermat: Advanced Ceramics, Act II
Kermat, the section dedicated to advanced ceramics, will be making its second appearance at the 2008 edition of Tecnargilla. Once again it will offer various conference events, which were much appreciated by visitors last time around, but this time it will also have its own special display area. The subjects to be examined on the 1st and 2nd of October have already been decided.

Firstly the International Forum – New Frontiers for Ceramic Materials will feature discussion of the roadmap for future developments in ceramics: strategies and prospects for sector companies, ceramics technologies for alternative energies and environmental protection, and sustainability in the building industry.

A conference on Innovative Applications for Ceramic Materials is also programmed, focussed on European priorities for innovation in the tiling sector, high added value multifunctional materials, nanostructural facing materials, the reduction of machinery vibration and noise levels through the use of piezoelectric technology, and geo-polymers.

New Services: The Web Business Space
The Rimini Fiera’s Web Business Space is an extremely useful tool for all companies who have either already decided to exhibit in Tecnargilla 2008 or who intend to do so. In a simple and intuitive manner the Web Business Space can provide cost estimates for participating in the Rimini event, and makes it possible to consult records and procedures related to participation in previous editions, and to check the current state of application procedures for 2008, as well as to make online bookings for various technical services in next year’s event.

Access to the Web Business Space, and to the complete descriptions of all the services it offers, can be made directly from the http://www.tecnargilla.it Home Page. Cesana makes a Statement at Cersaie

Italian shower manufacturer Cesana exhibited its range of stylish, contemporary showers at Cersaie, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings, held in Bologna, 2-6 October 2007.

Cesana's impressive yet simple stand reflected the ethos behind its shower enclosure designs and attracted a lot of attention.

Two new products aimed at the luxury contemporary market stole the show. The Plano is a showering solution that is integrated into the architecture of the bathroom. The shower tray, in steel, is inset into the floor to create a base for the shower mat that is level with the bathroom floor. The 8mm or 10mm safety glass is fixed to the tray and a steel upper support bar joins the two glass panels. The mat can be in teak, aluminium or pral (an artificial material composed by natural minerals and acrylic components). The Plano was designed by Giulio Gianturco and Mario Tessarollo.

The Tecnoslide is a contemporary and sophisticated design, using only essential lines to form this showering solution. The sliding mechanism of the front panel is the main feature of this enclosure. The frame is in anodised aluminium and the 8mm safety glass is available in both clear and opal finish. An ideal space-saving solution.

Gloria Riva, Cesana's marketing director comments: 'Cersaie was a great opportunity for us to reinforce our position as leading edge designers and we are delighted with the positive response of clients, professionals and journalists, to our innovative products.
'Cesana aims to make showering a daily pleasure and these new products respond to the continuing trend for well-being and relaxation in the bathroom. Whether the bathroom is large and spacious or compact, Cesana has the solution.

'Cesana has been established in Milan for almost 40 years and has constantly led the market in both design and technical innovation.'

This range is now available as part of the new Moods Ultimate Bathrooms Collection from the UK's largest bathroom, kitchen and appliance distributor, PJH Group.

Drummonds Sparkles on its Return to Decorex

Luxury interiors specialist Drummonds attracted a huge amount of attention at Decorex with interior designers, architects and members of the general public drawn to its stand, which featured eight luxurious bathroom sets.

Drummonds' double vanity basin with a hand picked marble surround wowed visitors with its high level of craftsmanship and beauty, while others were captivated by the Lomond built in bath with mirrored surround and it's unique glittered backdrop.

The deep Torridge bath; the beautifully finished walnut low level cistern and a cascade of Drummonds' door furniture were among an array of products which demonstrated the company's design flair and the high standard of products it manufactures in its own casting foundry.

Drummonds' largest freestanding cast iron bath, the Spey, in matt black with chrome claw and ball feet added a contemporary feel to the stand, along with handmade chunky heated towel rails and the new curved Barra bath mixer tap.

In addition to the bathrooms, Drummonds also showcased its handmade solid brass door and window furniture, plus restored flooring, including polished limestone, Parquet de Versailles, cabouchon limestone and a range of oaks. Drummonds offers a complete planning, supply and installation service.
