The
Gallery Strengthens Contemporary Kitchen Offer
The
Gallery
has further strengthened its choice of kitchen styles with the launch
of two new modern styled kitchens and a range of luxury aluminium accessories,
which have been designed to complement the full Gallery range of contemporary
kitchens.
Created
to meet the ever increasing demand for contemporary design, the two flat-panel
styles, Memphis and Virginia, stand alone or can be combined with the
aluminium accessory range, which includes curved pan drawers, ribbed end
panels and aluminium framed glazed frontals.
Memphis, in pearlescent anthracite has dramatic impact, which looks particularly
effective when combined with the new aluminium-framed glazed frontals
and other accessories, to soften the look.
Virginia, a walnut effect flat panel, offers a cost-effective means to
create clean, contemporary lines with the added interest of an attractive
walnut grain effect.
Symphony's Alison Andrews comments: 'Both these new door designs and the
full range of aluminium accessories will bring fresh choices to our customers
and consumers because they widen the spectrum of colours and textures
within the contemporary section of the Gallery kitchen collection.'
The Gallery is part of Symphony, the UK's largest privately owned supplier
of furniture. The Gallery is available through a network of more than
500 independent kitchen studios across the UK.

Gamekeeper
Double Bowl
Brass
& Traditional Sinks
has commissioned and designed its own exclusive Gamekeepers ceramic sinks.
Unimpressed with the existing standards of manufacture on the market,
the company that specialises in supplying quality period style sinks has
decided to create its own new models.
The company says that the new Gamekeeper Double sink is the first 'reversible'
ceramic sink available on the market offering versatility with two looks
in one - one side has an elegant fluted front and the other has a Victorian
'baluster' rim. While the ceramic sink look has long been popular with
those striving to recreate an authentic period style in their kitchen,
in recent years it has also been embraced within contemporary interiors,
where the direct contrast of old and new provides stunning results.
The sink is manufactured from fine fireclay and glazed with heavy-duty
porcelain. The Gamekeeper Double has a scalloped overflow dividing the
two bowls. The 90mm waste outlets are positioned centrally in each bowl
and a waste disposal unit may be fitted if required.

Kitchendraw
Becomes even Better Value
This
week saw the release of an updated version of Kitchendraw
- the kitchen and bathroom planning software.
Amongst the new features is the inclusion of a Walk Through. Now as well
as Photorealistic presentations the software allows users to walk their
customer through their newly designed kitchen, bedroom or bathroom ( or
even the complete house).
A
second new feature is the addition of 'WebShow'. Webshow will allow Kitchendraw
users to upload their designs to a special area of the Kitchendraw website
where their customers can view the design in 3D. The customer will also
see the quotation including the complete list of cabinets etc. In certain
instances the customer may also be given the choice of changing the style
or colours of the kitchen and instantly view the effects.
Peter West from Easycadplus (the Kitchendraw UK support Partner) says;
'The introduction of the walk through has been eagerly anticipated by
us and our existing customers, and its release could not have been better
timed. One of our Partner manufacturers RAK Ceramics ( a large Bathroom
supplier) which recommends Kitchendraw exclusively for use by its customers
will be presenting the software on the company's stand at the KBB later
this month on stand F89/F79.
'The introduction of 'WebShow' (to be released in February/March) means
that designers will be able to allow customers to view their designs in
the comfort of their own homes without either party having to travel back
and fore to the studio or customers home. The designer will be able to
discuss the plan with the customer over the telephone whilst they and
the customer are both viewing it at the same time on the web site.
'Anyone who wants to try out the software can download a free copy from
the software site.'
V5 is now available as a Free download from http://www.kitchendraw.com,
and can be installed as a free trial or a free upgrade to previously installed
versions.

Libero
- Design Highlights for Freedom-Lovers
The
ALNO Libero collection of highlight
furniture, launched in 2005, has been extended for 2006.
The five Libero cabinet systems - window, corner, zoom, tower and jumbo
(which has received the renowned red dot design award) - are receiving
reinforcements in the form of additional window, jumbo and a sixth system,
the Libero frame, which creates additional hanging space in cabinets.

Frame
cupboards have a 14.5-cm deep front construction with a frosted glass
door framed in high gloss white, vanilla, ruby, ice blue or Arctic yellow.
Depending on the cabinet height - 65, 78 or 91 cm - the illuminated front
construction has one or two glass shelves.
Colour, light, gloss and transparency are the Libero design highlights.
Therefore, window base cabinets behind frosted glass now provide well-designed
storage space at the end of the run of cabinets in red, white, graphite
and black.
Window also takes account of the growing trend towards entertainment in
the kitchen. A tall unit has been created which incorporates a CD/radio
and CD shelving into the front of the cabinet. An LCD television can also
be incorporated as an optional extra. This unit features a frosted glass
door, with a clear panel to allow the TV picture to be viewed when the
door is closed.
The jumbo high-gloss performance base and side cabinets are now also available
in ice blue and arctic yellow as well as last year's colours of white,
vanilla and ruby red. A cool stainless steel variant and one with a Macasser
veneer have also been launched. A new variant is a jumbo base cabinet
with rounded stainless steel washing-up centre and two pullouts.
The essence of Libero is a combination of design, function and comfort
in glass, aluminium and stainless steel. Every element has been created
to help the kitchen designer plan the transition between kitchen and living
area, says the company.
Clean
Lines with PWS' Angel Birch
The
new Angel Birch range from PWS is
light and airy, achieving the clean lined look so popular in modern kitchen
design. The blond timber combined with the simplicity of style offers
endless design options. The company says that Angel Birch sits well in
any colour scheme and complements virtually every material from steel
and glass through to granite and slate.
Angel Birch is offered with a comprehensive accessories collection including
natural glazed feature doors, providing flexibility and design freedom.
For instance teaming the door with the traditionally styled cornice, tongue
and groove panelling, pewter handles and granite worktops will create
a kitchen rich in rustic touches. Or for a modern interpretation that
befits the clean lines of the door design, bring the styling right up
to date with the introduction of stainless steel feature doors, composite
stone worktops and sleek bar handles.
The Angel design is also available in natural oak, and both the birch
and oak options have achieved FIRA Gold status, bringing the total number
of PWS door ranges with the FIRA Gold award to forty-seven.

Burbidge
Paints a Pretty Picture with New Lansdowne Design
The
growing popularity of its best-selling Lansdowne range has led Burbidge
to introduce a Painted Oak collection in four colourways. Combining the
beauty of wood with contemporary colours, the solid oak frontals and accessories
are individually hand-sprayed to allow the appealing delicate oak grain
patterning to be subtly revealed through the painted finish.
Finished
with a low sheen, the new Lansdowne Painted Oak designs are available
in four timeless heritage colours; Sage, Chalk-blue, Truffle and Ivory,
which offer a soft and natural effect; suitable for consumers who want
to add subtle colour into their home.
Ben Burbidge, managing director, comments: Burbidge is known for
its consistent ability to both predict and react to trends. These four
new Painted Oak additions to the Lansdowne range have been created in
recognition of the growing number of consumers who want to introduce colour,
character and contemporary design into their homes; in a discreet way.
We believe the subtle chalky colourways that we have developed ideally
complement the distinctive Lansdowne design and together create four kitchen
options that each offer long-lasting appeal.
Also available in Natural Oak, Natural Maple and Black Walnut, the Lansdowne
kitchen design combines contemporary styling and innovative accessories.
Particularly distinctive, and proving to be a key selling point with consumers,
are the lattice inset feature doors with contrasting natural oak inserts
and the quirky curved drawer fronts, doors and plinths. The range, which
is based on a wide-framed shaker style, also includes a clear glass panelled
feature door, wide pan drawer fronts, chunky end panelling and a curved
extractor canopy. A new iron-effect Gothic D handle has also been introduced
to provide the finishing touch to a Lansdowne Painted Oak kitchen.
Ben Burbidge continues: Our Lansdowne range has been designed so
that doors and accessories from the different finishes not only look stunning
on their own, but can also be combined with each other; thereby providing
consumers and designers alike with maximum creative flexibility. For instance
each of the four carefully-selected Painted Oak colourways can be used
on their own, mixed and matched with each other, or combined with doors
and accessories in a Natural Oak finish to create beautiful, individually-styled
kitchens.
Burbidge is a UK kitchen frontals and accessories manufacturer. For further
