Gallery Sails into 2007 with Hudson

Gallery has expanded its popular Blonde Oak kitchen range for 2007 with the introduction of Hudson.

A fresh, contemporary kitchen designed to be equally at home with bold, modern decorations and stainless steel appliances or more neutral, muted colours and accessories, Hudson offers retailers a highly flexible option.

A horizontal grain, timber effect slab door in blonde oak, with co-ordinating carcase, Hudson has a choice of matching accessories to add interest and variety to kitchen designs.

The use of blonde oak gives the kitchen a warm feel and responds to the current design trend for natural tones, with pale peaches, gold and honey notes.  The versatility of this door means it will perfectly complement a neutral design palette or equally look stunning when punctuated with more vibrant colours.

Gallery’s Brand Manager Sarah Stead said: 'One of our primary aims is to enable our retailers to offer customers a wide choice of kitchen designs, from dramatic glosses and stunningly simple shaker styles to the more traditional door.  Hudson sits comfortably in the Gallery collection, as the design is extremely flexible and versatile.

'Timber-effect doors continue to be extremely popular. Teamed with pale, muted colours it gives a light and airy feel, whereas for a more dramatic colour scheme, Hudson looks striking with strong black and bold reds.'

Urban Cream - JJO plc Brings the Future Home

J&J Ormerod plc (JJO plc), the independent UK manufacturer of kitchens and bedrooms, is launching its Colonial Urban kitchen in a cream colourway. JJO plc unveils this ultra modern Urban kitchen, confident that prevailing fashions are changing from traditional looks to cleaner lines.

JJO says that its Colonial Urban kitchen in cream is proud to be different. A kitchen with bravura styling, it features a bold-colourway worktop and splashback to create the optimum contrast with its smooth, sheer cabinets. The linear units are simple in design, architectural in their straight lines, with drama added by the vermilion work surfaces and splashbacks.

JJO offers Urban Cream kitchen units in different heights, which give additional interest and add to the architectural effect. A combination of different sightlines is up-to-the-minute and makes the kitchen constantly interesting. Wall cabinets of asymmetrical length meet units of differing heights, joined by one long central bridging unit, to create a cohesive whole. The splashbacks and shelving add a unifying element. Conceived from modern principles of design, the layout of the units is actually very simple, giving the impression of an urban skyline.

JJO's Urban kitchen is part of its olonial range of kitchens, and is also available in a beech finish. Prices start at £90 inc VAT for a 300mm base unit and £220 inc VAT for a 600mm midi larder unit. A comprehensive range of optional extras are also available to complement the Urban cream, including shelf lights and halogen downlights. In addition, JJO plc offers over 100 different handles. JJO recommends using oval bar handles in matt chrome with the Urban kitchen, as this typifies the current trend for wide contemporary units with contrasting metal handles.

JJO plc is a corporate member of the KBSA (Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialist Association), a long term member of ASFI (Association of Suppliers to the Furniture Industry) and a supporter of FIRA (Furniture Industry Research Association).

Carron Phoenix Launches Premium Isis Stainless Steel Range

Fashionably low profile edges, deeper than average bowl sizes, choice of two textures, left and right hand flexibility and a modern geometric design characterise the new Isis stainless steel range from Carron Phoenix.

A key feature of the Isis design is the low profile perimeter that sits just 4mm off the worksurface, much flatter than other inset models within the Carron range. It gives a crisp, almost seamless appearance between the sink and worksurface normally only achieved with an undermount or flushmount sink. Yet Isis, as an inset sink, is installed with a single cut-out reducing both time and installation costs.

Clean lines are echoed throughout the Isis range, from the drainer pattern to the ergonomic bowl options. Isis is available in two finishes, polished and the new Micro Linen, which adds a subtle textured look to the sink.

There are four models available in both left and right hand drainer configurations. These include the popular single and 1.5 bowl options, as well as superb 1.75 and 2.5 bowl options for the harder working kitchen. At 200mm deep, the Isis bowls are also more roomy and flexible compared to the 180mm of a standard inset model.

JJO plc Launches the Castille Kitchen in Natural Oak

J&J Ormerod PLC (JJO plc), the independent UK manufacturer of quality kitchens and bedrooms, has introduced the Castille kitchen in Natural Oak to its solid oak kitchen range.

The trend for wide, clean units in natural tones is captured in the oak effect of this addition to JJO's range. The colour was designed to meet the changing market trend toward browns and beiges and moves away from the 'green/yellow' tones of traditional oaks. The Natural Oak finish emphasises a natural wood look and will enhance and beautify any number of design combinations.

The company says that JJO's Natural Oak kitchen epitomises the continuing desire for traditional and classic kitchen styles, using solid and enduring materials combined with beautiful yet functional looks. Some styles and materials stand the test of time, representing longevity and good taste, and their appeal is timeless.

The Castille kitchen in Natural Oak is set in this tradition. Solid wood evokes a sense of craftsmanship and is perfectly suited to a suburban kitchen which aspires to a homely yet modern sensibility as well as to a rustic, farmhouse setting. The Castille Natural Oak units can be successfully combined with a multitude of inset colourways, from cream through to the red, slate grey and ebony palettes of current trends to create a contemporary kitchen anchored in a classic style.

The Castille Natural Oak kitchen is available in a variety of units including a range of base units, larders, drawer packs and with a castellated pelmet and accessories.

Prices are in the region of £120 for a 300mm base unit in Natural Oak and £110 for a 280mm wall unit. Wall units are offered with an optional glass front or open shelving in a selection of sizes. A comprehensive range of optional extras are also available to complement the warm, solid oak timber, including shelf lights and halogen downlights. In addition, JJO offers over 100 different handles.

Recommended are the Hammered Pewter Bow Handles for cupboards and wide drawers, and Hammered Pewter Knobs on slim line drawers to complement both the style and colour of the Natural Oak.

JJO PLC is a corporate member of the KBSA (Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialist Association), a long term member of ASFI (Association of Suppliers to the Furniture Industry) and a supporter of FIRA (Furniture Industry Research Association).

Sinks with Shape and Style from PWS

Shape and styling are very important to how the kitchen works ergonomically and also to how it looks, so it comes as no surprise that form and function are inherent in the designs of PWS' latest sink collection.

As the trend for solid and natural worksurface materials gathers pace, PWS has positioned its sink portfolio to suit this specialist market. The new range of high quality stainless steel undermount sinks is proving immensely popular and captures the consumer demand for clean-living and professional lines. Manufactured by Teka, the range encompasses simple, fresh designs that are at home in both modern and traditional kitchens.

The union of lines and curves, ensures the new 1 1/2 bowl option stands out from the crowd as it has a contemporary feel that is both stylish and functional. Other models in the new line-up include single bowls and double bowl combinations in a range of sizes.

Comments Andrew Langford, PWS' Marketing Manager, 'Sinks and taps have elevated their status enormously over the past few years to be an integral design choice within a kitchen scheme. The same can of course be said for many products - handles, worktops, storage solutions - but the role of the sink area has changed into a much more considered choice. Sinks have always been an important part of the working triangle but now have assumed even greater importance for shape, style, material and function. Of course material-wise, stainless steel will always be the fore-runner as it gives such a fresh, clean, hygienic feel to the sink area.

Burbidge Stays Ahead of the Curve

Kitchen frontals and accessories manufacturer, Burbidge, has introduced a panelled curved feature door to complement its popular Lansdowne kitchen. The feature frontal will lend even more design possibilities to the range as flowing curved designs continue to be the number one choice for style-conscious homeowners.

The new panelled curved door is available in all Lansdowne finishes: Natural Oak, Natural Maple, Black Walnut and Painted Oak in Sage, Ivory, Maize and Cornflower, and will add to the limitless design potentials.

Ben Burbidge, managing director of Burbidge, comments: 'The curved, non-panelled drawer and door fronts we already offer as part of the Lansdowne kitchen have contributed heavily to the range's incredible success. Increasingly, consumers are seeking out organic curves over straight edges in their kitchen designs so the new panelled curved door was a natural addition to the range.

By mixing and matching this striking feature door with the other accessories and frontals in the Lansdowne range, retailers can create a beautiful, sweeping look for their customers that is truly unique and has the feeling of a bespoke kitchen design.'

Curves are a practical design solution as they provide more storage space than standard flat frontals. The new panelled curved door complements the standard Lansdowne door and drawer frontals, it can be used on both base and wall units to create eye-catching island unit combinations, unusual corner cabinets or a rounded finish to a run of units. The new door comes supplied with all necessary components: curved plinth sections for base units and curved cornice sections and light pelmets for wall units.

The curved, panelled door joins a wealth of innovative design features and accessories in the extensive Lansdowne range. Curved, non-panelled door and drawer fronts, lattice inset feature doors, inlaid marquetry feature doors and clear glass panelled doors can be combined with accessories such as curved extractor canopies, square pilasters, shelving, framed end panels and curved plinths. Pronorm's New Proline 128 - Designed to Suit You

Pronorm, the rigid kitchen furniture brand, says that it is upping the ante in the premium sector with the introduction of its Proline 128 kitchen. ‘It offers retailers a level of ergonomic design and planning sophistication that to date has only been available from a clutch of exclusive brands’.

128mm is the significant measurement that brings with it a range of benefits for the designer and the end customer. The concept centres on all the kitchen door and drawer products being based on a height of 128mm or multiples of it. By using increments of 128mm, a kitchen can be designed to suit the customer's bespoke requirements for different working heights for preparation, cooking and storage. Not only does this help protect against back strain, but is also far more ergonomically friendly. Following the ergonomic rule, cooking height should be around 794mm, while standard working height for preparation and washing up is 922mm. But depending on the client's actual height, the kitchen can be designed to suit his or her exact needs. Proline 128 also offers greater flexibility and choice of storage options including a 768mm high base unit. It also has a cleaner visual aesthetic, as the gap between doors and drawers has been reduced down to a neat 4mm.

Says Jason Grinton, Business Manager for UK & Ireland:
‘Proline 128 is a great example of how design, manufacturing and technical expertise have come together to offer our customers real design advantage. Also as an introductory offer, it is available at the same price level as our Classic Line range which gives the double benefit of superb design capability and margin opportunity.’

The Proline 128 concept is available on a wide range of Pronorm door designs including the Nut Tobacco, Wenge plus a comprehensive selection of matt and high gloss plain colours.
