Get Touchy Feely with Microlinen Sink Texture

Tactile is in, so for an alternative to the polished smoothness of stainless steel take a look at the Microlinen texture from Carron Phoenix. Microlinen is available on a selected range of sinks including the new Isis 175 shown here.

‘Texture is featuring more and more in the kitchen, whether the ultra smoothness of high gloss doors or, by contrast, the deeper textures on worksurfaces. Microlinen offers a complete design contrast to the standard polished option and gives the sink a completely different look and feel.’ says Neil Clark, sales and marketing manager at Carron Phoenix.

Microlinen is a finely textured surface with a matt appearance that works well colour-wise with brushed stainless steel and appliances. The soft sheen of the metal has appealing low reflective qualities, while being soft to the touch.
Compared to standard polished stainless steel it also requires less buffing to keep up smart appearances, a bonus for those not big on kitchen chores.

Microlinen texture is available on all four of the premium specification Isis sinks which are a recent addition to the Carron Phoenix portfolio. The Isis 175 model features a spacious one and three quarter bowl option with deeper than average 200mm bowls. All Isis sinks are reversible, with a range of useful accessories available including basket, strainer bowl and chopping board.

Pure Inspiration with PWS' Milton Ivory Range

Inviting, inspiring, intimate and individual, PWS says that its new Milton Ivory range is all this and more. Embracing a modern take on traditional in-frame principles, Milton Ivory has no frills and pretentiousness, just a deceptively simple and clean design.

Crafted from timber with an ivory painted finish, Milton Ivory includes a range of feature accessories to reflect a relaxed and refreshing interpretation of this classic-inspired kitchen.

Comments Stuart Clarkson, PWS' Conceptual Design Manager, 'We always pay close attention down to the very last detail when developing new furniture ranges so the challenge with Milton was to create a range rich in features without falling into the trap of making the look over-complicated or too fussy. The result is a kitchen designed for modern living, one that will retain its value and look beautiful for many years to come'.

The range includes an extensive collection of accessories, including curved and glazed doors to create an enchanting interior, whether the look is relaxed country or modern sophistication, such is the versatility of this simple in-frame design. Milton is also available in a natural oak timber and both finishes have achieved FIRA Gold Status.

A comprehensive application guide is available, which offers a step by step approach to specifying and installing Milton in-frame.

PWS' Elegant Sink Collection

Elegance was the obvious name for PWS' new range of inset sinks. Clean lined and hyper-hygienic, stainless steel sinks can sometimes look cold and clinical, not so with the Elegance sinks, with their soft corners and gentle contours the look is stylish and elegant.

Available in four designs Elegance is part of the company's newly developed collection. With single and bowl-and-a-half combinations in various shapes and sizes the range combines versatility with great visual appeal.

Comments Andrew Langford, PWS' Marketing Manager:

'Our sink range is clearly focused on high quality and strong design and has been developed to complement our timber, granite and composite stone worksurface portfolio.

'In recent years the sink has broken free of its dull workhorse image, it's still retaining its functional purpose but now adopts a greater design interest.'

PWS' sink collection extends to over 35 stainless steel options with 15 fireclay sinks as well as a single and bowl-and-a-half copper Belfast. The range is supported with a comprehensive selection of taps.

Waste Away - Easily Done with Carron Phoenix's New Range of Waste Disposers

Carron Phoenix has extended its sink and tap portfolio to offer a new product line in eco-friendly waste disposers, offering customers a total solution for the kitchen sink space from a single supplier.

Easy to fit, quiet to operate and efficient to use, waste disposers are an asset to any kitchen and can be easily sold in as part of the sink and tap combination.

Says Neil Clark sales and marketing manager:

‘Awareness for responsible waste management and recycling is growing fast and waste disposers should be included as a standard product in the kitchen. For a nominal investment, the householder gets an efficient and hygienic method of waste disposal, whilst caring for the environment by dramatically reducing waste that goes to landfill.’

The Carron range offers 4 models with varying speed, capacity and disposal efficiency to cater for even the most demanding of kitchens. The range includes one batch feed model and three switch operated models which come with an air switch supplied in the box. The air switch can be fitted on the sink or the worktop and, requiring no electricity for operation, reduces any risk from flicking electric switches with wet hands.

The waste disposers are also sound insulated for quiet operation.

Operational efficiency at high speed disposes of foodstuffs in seconds down the normal waste pipe and being septic safe, there is no risk of germ build up. All models are backed by a parts and labour warranty.

Simplicity, Elegance and Impressive Performance - A New Corner Cabinet Storage Display from Häfele

Here is a new take on the complex, slide-out corner storage unit that rose to prominence for kitchens when it was launched in the '90s. But this new version from Häfele says it all for elegance and simplicity.

Designed for 900, 1,000 and 1,200mm corner cabinets, this new twin shelf corner storage unit swings on a pole unit mounted centrally at the leading edge of the cupboard at the point of the door opening. The shaped shelves are designed to withdraw into the corner unit with guidance from a roller fixed at the opposite point in the door opening.

The design subtlety is in the kidney-like shapes of the shelves themselves. They fill the footprint of the corner unit to best advantage when closed but when drawn towards the user they are guided forward for best access advantage, eventually swinging clear of the cabinet enclosure almost completely.

A minimum cabinet depth of 490mm is required to house the mechanism and the new corner unit is available in both left and right handed forms. It is designed for smooth and very simple manual withdrawal and return.

Each shelving set comes complete with a pair of laminated wooden bases finished in white and with polished chrome retaining rails and mechanisms to match. All fixing materials and components are included together with full user instructions.

Zeta 215 Maxes up Sink Ergonomics

The new Zeta 215 from Carron Phoenix is one of the four models in the new Zeta stainless steel range with the low profile perimeter, and offers a very capacious double bowl option.

The identical double bowls measure a roomy 360 x 420 x 180mm deep. They are large enough to accommodate bulky items like oven inserts, roasting tins and baking trays, thus marking an end to wrestling with the washing up.

With symmetrical bowls side by side, the Zeta 215 is high on ergonomics, giving the user a range of options for washing up, rinsing and food preparation. This sink teams well with a multi-function tap such as Carron's Nautilux or Argenta with extending hoses for rinsing crockery or foodstuffs. There is a full range of accessories including stainless steel basket, strainer bowl and wooden chopping board. The well proportioned drainer doubles easily as a food prep area. Add in one of the new Carron waste disposers for a complete solution to the kitchen sink space.

Says Neil Clark, sales and marketing manager at Carron Phoenix:
‘The current design trend for using wider cabinetry and creating long runs of worksurface means that sinks can take on much larger proportions to meet the functional and ergonomic needs of today's kitchens. Our new Zeta 215 enables the customer to make a style statement, while meeting their everyday functional needs.’

Zeta comes in four models - a choice of two single bowls; a one and half bowl and a double bowl. The linear, square shaped bowls give Zeta a modern design feel that makes it versatile for today's kitchen styles. It comes in a choice of two stainless steel finishes: polished or textured linen.

Another modern style plus for Zeta is the low profile perimeter of the sink design. This means that the sink sits just 4mm off the worksurface, in keeping with the new generation of modern sinks within the Carron Phoenix portfolio. It gives a crisp, almost seamless appearance between the sink and worksurface normally only achieved with an undermount or flushmount sink. Yet Zeta, as an inset sink, is installed with a single cut-out reducing both time and installation costs.

PWS in the Frame with New Milton Collection

PWS has moved into in-frame kitchens following its launch of the Milton collection. Old meets new with Milton, taking inspiration from traditional in-frame craftmanship but bringing it bang up to date with the latest features and touches for modern living.

The warmth of Milton oak brings the beauty of natural oak into the heart of the home, cleverly mixing a hint of nostalgia with a wealth of essential design elements and up to the minute features such as wide drawers and lots of sleek and smooth curves.

Comments Stuart Clarkson, PWS' Conceptual Design Manager, 'We've researched and developed, tweaked and refined, tuning the design to make sure its absolutely right for the increasing demands that modern living places on kitchens today.
Milton is able to create a living space beyond the kitchen and that is becoming the key consideration for kitchen designers in the future. In-frame is a furniture classic but we've reinvented it to prove that it can be equally at home in urban loft living as it is in a rural rustic retreat'.

With an extensive menu of feature accessories, glazed doors and curved doors the design opportunities with the Milton range are immense. Milton is also available in a painted ivory finish, and both options have achieved FIRA Gold status. Franke Expands Popular Kubus Range

Following the popularity of the Kubus Stainless Steel undermount sinks, which offer consumers sleek, symmetrical sinks in a range of sizes, Franke has developed new Fragranite models.

The Fragranite Kubus sinks are available in Polar White and Graphite and retain the shape of the Stainless Steel range, which sees the traditional soft curve of the bowl replaced with a more geometric modern line.

Combining practicality and design, the 25mm corner radii provide the range with a modern angular appearance, which will complement minimalistic style kitchens, whilst also remaining practical and easy to clean.

The Kubus Fragranite range is available in four different models, offering different configurations to suit consumers’ individual needs.

The range features the KBG 160, a one and a half bowl sink, as well as three other individual bowls which can be co-ordinated as desired, including the KBG 110 34 and the KBG 110 50, large and jumbo bowls. As with the Stainless Steel Kubus, the half bowl within the range has the same front to back dimensions as the main bowls, again adding to the overall geometric style.
