cutlery tray is also available which fits snugly inside the curved drawer

Uncovering
Poggenpohl
Poggenpohl
says that there are two tiers of interior design within a Poggenpohl kitchen.
After the interior design of the kitchen comes the interior design of
the Poggenpohl cabinets themselves.
Friedemir
Poggenpohl was a master cabinet maker, a pioneer of furniture design and
furniture manufacturing techniques. His legacy, his objective to 'improve
the kitchen' is still honoured 111 years after he established the company.
Poggenpohl cabinets can easily be identified as 'the real thing' by virtue
of the 'Logodecal' pattern on the durable Coronal interior surfaces (Coronal
is unique to Poggenpohl). All Poggenpohl drawers and pull-outs feature
the +MOTION soft self-closing mechanism and feature a Poggenpohl badge
inside the leading edge.
Drawer boxes are either extruded aluminium or solid beech. Pull-outs are
tough, shiny chrome wire-work and they are extremely robust - whether
empty or fully-loaded (to more than the weight of a person), a full-height
pull-out will smoothly glide.
The drawer interiors are crafted in solid beech or aluminium. Many of
the interior accessories include tailor-made utensils and storage containers
for a bewildering range of equipment. They are fascinating in detail.
For instance, a simple bread board, fitted to easily lift from drawers,
is supplied with a matching knife and a stainless steel undertray to collect
crumbs. The undertray is laser-etched with the Poggenpohl logo and glides
smoothly in and out of the beech bread board.

Reginox
Launches a New Eye-Catching Model
Cheshire-based
sink specialist, Reginox UK adds a
new model to its RegiLux range of stainless steel sinks, the RL 204S.
Reginox
has introduced the RL 204S to meet market needs for a stylish design at
an affordable price. The sink is suitable for modern looking kitchens,

This new RL 204S is an inset single bowl and drainer sink with a shallow
quarter bowl. It has a practical square bowl with an additional small
rectangular bowl for rinsing and an attractively designed drainer. The

to most household needs, the drainer can be fitted either on the left
or the right-hand side.
The RL 204S comes with 90mm basket strainer waste with a pop up facility,
and as with all models in the RegiLux range, it is also supplied with

defects is offered.
Fashioned from 18/10 polished stainless steel that is both durable and
stain resistant, the RL 204S combines durability with style and is easy
to clean. A wipe over with a damp cloth will keep the sink sparkling.
The RL 204S sink retails at £177.99 inc. VAT.

Plate
Rack Rail from BA Components
Further
innovation from the in-house design team at BA
Components has resulted in a solution to the problems in fitting
a Plate Rack feature in a kitchen. This is based largely on the thinking
behind the market success of their Wine Rack Rail, where the resolution
to the problem lay in providing the trim for the shelf frontage as a pelmet-like
single 2.55m length. The latter is moulded to support the bottle necks,
and which is then cut to length on site.
Similarly the Plate Rack Rail is manufactured and sold in 2.5m lengths.
Each moulded 250mm deep section is cut from this length making each of
8 dividers at 310mm high.
The spacing between each divider can be suited to the customers
plate or bowl depth, or proportioned to the space allowed for the Plate
Rack feature within the kitchen design. The rail comes in all 21 colours
to match the current BA range.

Blum
- Your Solution to Storage Problems
Over
many years Blum has developed products
that allow kitchen manufacturers to design progressive storage solutions.
The company realised that wasted space and bad organisation leads to clutter,
voids and totally inefficient use of the area behind the kitchen door.
By applying its designs the company says it has proved that up to 55%
of additional space can be generated.
Full
extension runners give you access to the back one third of your drawers
and shelves that youd forgotten existed. Blum are saying dont
reach into dark recesses or spend half your kitchen time on your knees
let the shelves and drawers come all the way out to you and then
theyll be properly used.
Use
flexible cutlery dividing systems, height extensions to drawer sides and
backs, pot and pan galleries, bottle and packet dividers, removable plate
racks and much more.
Load
your drawers to the hilt. With sturdy Blum runners, a 1000mm width drawer
can be loaded to 80kg.
To
plan your next kitchen storage solutions, go to http://www.blum.com
and try the storage planner.
By adding pullouts rather than traditional cupboards - it should only
add less than 10% to the price of a kitchen.

the growing trend for solid surfacing and granite worktops. Whether surfaces
are of natural or synthetic material, the Kindred range easily integrates

resistant and stronger sink and the retailer a combination of advantages
including a top-end premium quality product with big margin opportunities.

Charles
Yorke Launches Striking Oriental Range
With
a single feature door taking more than eight hours to construct, Charles
Yorke's new Jakarta range is an example of the company's marriage
of furniture making skill and contemporary design.
One
of four new collections to be launched this year by the bespoke kitchen
specialist, Jakarta is a striking American black walnut kitchen which
features intricate doors constructed using traditional furniture making
skills which exploit the direction of the wood grain, to produce a woven
or chequered effect.
Designer Phil Wallace drew influences from Japanese furniture and maritime
trunks and cases with their strong horizontal lines and dark timbers,
to create a design statement. He comments; 'This is a working kitchen
but it has a really space conscious design with a place for everything,
making it great for an open plan living area.
'I wanted a design which would really show off the quality of the timber
and the skills of the cabinet makers. By creating a chequer board using
direction of the grain rather than two different colours the end result
is really interesting.'
As with all Charles Yorke designs each Jakarta kitchen is completely bespoke.
Simple shaker style doors and split panel doors and drawer fronts work
well with the intricate feature doors. Special units include a versatile
freestanding cupboard unit tailored to house appliances from coffee maker
to hi-fi and a wheeled butchers block which stows away when extra work
surface isn't needed.
Whilst American black walnut gives a dramatic oriental look complemented
by textures such as polished granite and frosted glass, the design translates
well into other timbers such as oak, maple or cherry each creating a different
feel.
Available through a network of carefully selected retailers, Charles Yorke
kitchens are completely bespoke. Following an initial discussion with
the retailer and a number of site visits, the expert draftsmen at Charles
Yorke create individual plans and 3D drawings.
The kitchen is then built in Charles Yorke's Nottingham factory by a team
of skilled craftsmen using a combination of traditional cabinet making
skills and state of the art technology. 'Only the finest raw materials
are used to create furniture which will last for generations.' says the
company.

Aga
- Welcome to the Iron Age
Having cooked meals and warmed hearts since 1922, the Aga
has always remained true to its original design. Today, eight decades
after its invention, the Aga is still considered to be one of the most
iconic kitchen classics of its time.
The
cooker at the heart of 750,000 homes around the world will slot into practically
any kitchen and can be fitted against virtually any wall. Available in
a range of fuel options - natural gas, propane gas, oil or electric -
an Aga will add warmth to your home and provide a focal point to any kitchen.
Aga Cooking
It may be one of the world's most recognisable design icons yet an Aga
cooker is surprisingly easy to own and cook on. Owners talk with boundless
enthusiasm, even passion, about the Aga taste.
The company says that no other cooker in the world produces flavours and
moist, succulent textures quite like it.
Aga cooking is stress free, even when you're entertaining. By using the
hot plates and ovens in combination you have every level of heat you need
for every type of cooking.
Boiling, Stir Frying and Hot Buttered Toast
Did you know that the Boiling Plate on an Aga can boil water faster than
most electric kettles? It's sustained high heat cooks vegetables so quickly
their colour stays vibrant, and their nutrients stay locked inside. This
same plate is also ideal for creating fast stir frys and, using the toaster
supplied, the famous Aga toast that's crisp on the outside and blissfully
soft within.
Simmering: Gently Does It
The Simmering Plate provides a gentle heat for warming milk and bringing
your custards and sauces to velvety smooth perfection. This plate is also
a natural griddle, the home of heavenly drop scones and blinis. In most
cookers simmering ends on the hotplate but not with an Aga: you also have
the Simmering Oven that plays such an important role in Aga cooking. For
example, start off your casserole on the Boiling Plate then transfer to
the Simmering Oven for the tenderest slow cooking you've ever tasted.
Fast boil root vegetables, drain, and then pop them into the oven to quietly
finish cooking in their own steam. The Simmering Oven also cooks beautifully
in its own right.
Roasting, Baking & Grilling
Heat is released in the Aga oven cavity so evenly and constantly using
the time-honoured 'hot top, cooler base' heat zones, just as in those
old bakers brick ovens. This is why the mere aroma of bread, pastries
and cakes emerging from an Aga is usually enough to fill a kitchen with
appreciative faces. Classic roasts are another Aga hallmark, the outside
dark and crisp, the inside succulent and moist. Not that an Aga is only
for serious food of course, it's equally adept at perfect pizza and oven
chips. Or in the moming there is nothing better than cooking sizzling
sausages and bacon in the top of the oven for breakfast.
How It Works
Beneath the classic looks of the Aga is a heart of cast iron. The entire
cooker is an outstanding efficient energy store, steadily transferring
the heat from its core into its oven and hotplates. An Aga is always ready
to cook instantly and there are no switches and dials because the Aga
looks after itself. Thermostatic control maintains consistent temperature
while high levels of insulation within the outer casing and beneath the
hotplate covers ensure that every Aga uses fuel economically. The Aga
releases a unique source of gentle, friendly warmth into your kitchen.

Franke
Launches the Nautilus Sink & Food Preparation Centre
New
from Franke is the Nautilus food preparation
centre - 'the sink for cooks'. In stainless steel or Fragranite SilkSheen
colours, the 1 1/2 bowl Nautilus has 'slide and glide' accessories that
work together for a variety of tasks.
Product Manager, John Swain, said: 'Workcentre sinks evolved into multi-function
centres to meet consumer demand for ergonomic, efficient design at the
busiest work station in the kitchen. The challenge then became to further
maximise the total wet area space to create a true food preparation unit.
The Nautilus achieves this and measuring 1100 x 510 mm, still fits within
a 600 mm base unit.'
The 'slide and glide' principle allows the stainless steel preparation
tray to slide anywhere on the drainer. The glass chopping board can then
glide over the tray into any convenient position. The stainless steel
strainer fitted into the half bowl of the sink works like a colander.

New
Hinges for Wooden and Glass Doors: Technology and Tradition
Salice,
manufacturer of hinges and opening systems for the furniture industry,
has enriched its range with a new series of hinges, developed to meet
specific requirements of the market.
Characterised by a high technological content, a pin movement with an
opening angle of 110 degrees and a metal cup which is just 9 mm deep,
the new series of hinges developed by Salice claim to fulfil the requirements
of all applications, from fully-inset doors to full overlay, thanks to
the facility it offers to drill wooden square-edge doors from 3mm to 18mm
from the edge and moulded doors up to 24mm from the edge.
The version for glass doors does not require the glass to be drilled.
Its cup comprises two parts, the first of which is a plate that is bonded
to the glass with adhesive, enabling the hinge to be secured to it by
cam. Once again, by changing the position of the plate on the glass, all
applications from full inset to full coverage doors (up to 20 mm) can
be achieved.
The new series of hinges developed by Salice offer independent parallel
sideways adjustment of the door position and are compatible with all Salice
mounting plates.

Your Mind to Scottwood of Nottingham
Scottwood
of Nottingham is aiming to challenge the way people buy kitchens. The
vast majority of kitchens are chosen either by selecting one from a brochure
or visiting a showroom, whereas the Scottwood approach is to create a
kitchen as individual as the person buying it.
Established in 1978 as a British company offering hand made kitchens,
Scottwood has unveiled three designs, specially commissioned, which demonstrate
the limitless opportunities in kitchen design.

1950s
Retro look from Scottwood
Founder of Scottwood, John lvell and design partners, Mark Wand and John
Leighton who all care passionately about the individuality of design,
have created three very different kitchen concepts. John has produced
a retro design, whilst Mark has chosen a more contemporary approach. John's
concept is breathtakingly different.
As with all Scottwood kitchens, they have been assembled by hand using
the team of skiiled cabinetmakers in the company's Nottingham manufacturing
facility.
