Aqualisa Introduces Improved Quartz Brochure

Aqualisa has launched a new consumer focused brochure for its best selling Quartz shower.

Featuring new photography and graphics, the literature made its debut at KBB, where installers and retailers alike voted its image-led content a hit. The Quartz has challenged showering industry standards since its launch in 2001, and has since racked up over £10m of sales, not to mention design awards and nominations.

However, explaining to consumers about the Quartz’s operation – the shower effectively blends hot and cold water supplies remotely to the showering area – was never going to be easy. And on the brink of a major new consumer marketing initiative that will see ‘Explorer’, take a display of seven, fully working Quartz showers to a series of nationwide events, good, imaginative literature was a high priority.

Clear and simple, the new brochure makes Quartz accessible to everyone; cleverly since its technical detail is fully retained. In addition to the Quartz, the brochure also covers basic water heating systems, explains the difference between pumped and non-pumped Quartz systems and also provides handy hints about Quartz options – such as body jets and the shower’s remote control button.

Technical/At A Glance Information
Launched in 2001, the Quartz has challenged most people’s common perception of showers and showering. Central to the Quartz’s operation is its sophisticated processor – or ‘brain’, which is installed in a separate location away from the shower. For example, in an airing cupboard or loft. Hot and cold water is mixed by the processor’s electronic thermistor, resulting in a delivery of water that has been accurately heated to a pre-set temperature. And for the safety conscious, the Quartz’s thermistor also prevents water flowing at higher temperatures than 45°C.
A simple data cable connects the control box to the shower, leaving only the system’s stylish push button start/stop control, and showerhead visible within the showering area. The former flashes red until the desired temperature has been reached, and there is the further option of a remote control.

In addition, the Quartz is also offered with an integrated pump, which is contained within the processor’s housing. Pumped Quartz systems feature a ‘Boost’ button on the shower’s main control and as the pump is situated with the processor away from the showering area, yet more valuable bathroom space can be saved.

Installers used to spending days excavating bathroom walls as a routine part of fitting a new shower have applauded the Quartz’s configuration, and with retrofitting possible in just two hours, it is no surprise that the Quartz has quickly become Aqualisa’s best-selling product.

• The Quartz is available as both an ‘off-the-wall’ or ‘on-the-wall’ design
• The Quartz is compatible with virtually all approved UK domestic water systems
• A Varispray shower head is included in the Quartz package – and features three different spray patterns
• Body jets can be added for extra impact
• Chrome or gold finishes are available
• The Quartz has a 5 year, comprehensive guarantee
• Quartz showers start from an RRP of £487.63 (inclusive of VAT)

Underwood Kitchens has introduced a new brochure, designed to illustrate just how extensive the company’s portfolio of bespoke kitchens really is.

‘Many potential customers don’t realise that because we are truly bespoke we can produce a whole range of styles from contemporary to traditional. The kitchens featured in the brochure now include a wide range of styles. From a small contemporary kitchen in a Georgian home that mixes Shaker maple with electric colour and stainless steel with deco-glazed glass to a large family kitchen that is classic contemporary.

In addition, Underwood’s ‘ambassador chef’, TV celebrity James Martin has his latest kitchen featured. This includes Portuguese limestone worktops on painted maple furniture and copper splashbacks.

New Ardesco Brochure Stimulates Consumer Passion for Worksurfaces

Orama, the independent manufacturer of worksurfaces and associated decorative products, has catered for emerging fashions, and recreated fresh moods in its new Ardesco brochure, highlighting the versatility and flexibility of its worksurfaces in any kitchen setting. As the worksurface has become an integral component in reflecting the look and feel of any new kitchen, consumers are looking for designs and ideas to suit their lifestyles and aspirations.

Orama’s new literature puts the accent on colour charts and offers both helpful and insightful design selection tips. The worksurface is a visual and functional element that binds all aspects of a new kitchen. Marrying worksurface and kitchen unit shades, colours, materials and visual effects should be an enjoyable experience. Orama’s designers have made helpful suggestions to achieve the best combinations possible and to unlock the imagination.

As laminates are becoming more fashionable, they are adapting to different needs and tastes. Adding the depth of a 50mm surface, for example, lends a powerful and robust finishing touch. Combined with stainless steel acrylic edging, these worksurfaces dramatically transform the modern kitchen and take centre stage. Establishing an environment where originality and individuality complement functionality and practicality has become a priority:

• Flexible combinations designed to create distinctive ambiences may be achieved by mixing and matching colours
• Blending different surfaces, for example to break up the kitchen and dining areas, will transform the space into a multi-purpose living area for the whole family
• A careful balance of natural laminate materials, including woods and pastels, will create a warm, cosy and rich environment

In addition to a complete palette of rich laminates, Ardesco is also available in natural wood, which is the most versatile material. It can provide beauty and warmth to any kitchen setting. Furthermore, Ardesco composite modules bring life to the work, wet and cook triangle where all the activity takes place. Manufactured from a durable material, these composites are heat, scuff and scratch resistant. They can seamlessly be incorporated into the laminate worksurfaces affording both convenience and further styling possibilities.

Ardesco was launched during summer 2003 and delivers a fresh new approach to worksurface style and design. The range offers worksurfaces to suit any taste with 24 laminates, 6 composite solid surfaces, solid timber and seven splashbacks. New edging options, 9 finishes in a generous 50mm and sharp edge radius combine to appeal to the fashion conscious. In addition, a new mirror flat finisheliminates any ripple effects on all gloss and silk designs.

Orama offers high quality durable decorative panels and worksurfaces. Established for many years, Orama holds ISO 9002 certification and the Furniture Industry Research Association Gold Award for product performance. The company is also a corporate member of the KBSA (Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialist Association). All Orama’s chipboard and solid timber products are sourced from 'responsibly managed' forests.
