Triton Hits the Small Screen in a Big Way

Triton is targeting savvy homeowners and property developers alike with its new large-scale television sponsorship campaign, making it the first shower manufacturer to hit the small screen for some time.

With the popularity of home development programmes still on the rise, Triton has filmed a series of mini-ads that lead in and out of iconic programmes such as Location, Location, Location, Property Ladder and Grand Designs, creating maximum exposure for the brand and its cutting-edge Satellites range whilst generating additional pull-through sales for merchants and installers alike.

The 'Britain's Clean Favourite' campaign is expected to reach an impressive 5.5 million viewers with an active interest in home products, and will place Triton in the enviable position of being the only manufacturer currently appearing on television.

The mini-ads feature every day, every week on all of the Discovery 'Lifestyle' stations, and started from 3rd September. Each clip has a light-hearted theme to reiterate the many benefits of the Satellites range, including the advanced remote technology, ease of installation and the numerous design options that this showering technology opens up.

Lorna Fellowes, managing director of Triton Showers, comments:

‘This campaign is designed to take the Triton brand to the widest possible audience and has been carefully developed to ensure it remains the brand of choice for consumers.

‘The ident themes not only bring humour into the mix to make them memorable, but also strengthen band recognition with consumers. As Satellites is one of the most cutting-edge showers available on the market, we are confident that these exciting new mini-ads will really grab the imagination of the viewers and the wide range of bathroom design options they provide.’

The first adverts in the collection are available to view at http://www.tritonshowers.co.uk.

Victoria & Albert Takes the Amalfi on Grand Tour

Freestanding bath specialist Victoria & Albert took to the road last month with the company's new Amalfi bath. Two newly updated display vans did a full circuit of the UK, introducing dealers to the latest models in a grand tour which took them to the four corners of the country.

The Amalfi slipper bath was accompanied by the award winning Napoli and Lido tap stand in each van. Both baths are set in new dedicated display zones which include special lighting and point of sale materials about the QUARRYCAST range, an exclusive volcanic limestone mixed with resin.

Adam Thresher, Victoria & Albert South West Key Account Manager says, ‘The four of us in the key account team have already had a great response in the areas we've visited so far. Seeing the baths in a fresh environment seems to really inspire dealers to imagine how they could look in their own showrooms, and develop confidence in the brand in a hands-on way.’

Sample Imperial Bathrooms’ Stone & Marble Collection

Following the introduction of a series of tile display boards, British bathroom manufacturer, Imperial Bathrooms, has extended this successful format to flaunt its Stone & Marble Collection.

Echoing the unusual and eye-catching landscape format of the tile display boards, this latest retail aid provides an arrangement of tile-size samples of the stone and marble featured in Imperial’s range of handcrafted bowls and vanity unit worktops.

Alongside three samples of marble in light, mid or dark tones – Dawn, Twilight and Midnight – the board also features two luxurious stone samples - Agri and Denzil. Each piece serves to provide consumers with an appreciation of the inherent natural beauty and simplicity that is synonymous with Imperial’s exclusive collection.

Unobtrusive and lightweight, measuring just 400 x 800mm, the stone and marble board may be displayed alongside Imperial’s sanitaryware or wall mounted where space or showroom layout demands.

Imperial Bathrooms’ Sales Director, John Gill, enthuses: 'This latest display board will prove an invaluable retail aid for customers choosing from Imperial’s Stone & Marble Collection. As with all our endeavours, this exciting POS piece reflects the outstanding quality and aesthetics for which Imperial products are renowned.'

Created from separate pieces of solid stone, Imperial’s stone bowls carry a uniqueness of their own. To guard against staining and colour discolouration, the bowls are also supplied with an extra sealant ensuring trouble-free performance for many years to come. Such fine attention to detail also continues with Imperial’s marble range, as the marble bowls and vanity unit tops are created from the same block of stone, thereby ensuring a closer colour match guarantee.

All product display boards are immediately available free of charge to supporting stockists and may be obtained by contacting Imperial Bathrooms’ Sales Department on: 0870 60 61 62 3. For further information on the company and its products, visit http://www.imperial-bathrooms.com

Wired for Sound

Norske Interiors UK Ltd has announced the winner of its latest win an iPod competition. The prize is offered twice a year to installers of Mermaid – the waterproof wall panel system. An entry card is available inside every Mermaid kit and installers can either enter themselves, or be entered by the person they are undertaking the installation for.

Ian Binks from Watertight Services in Peterborough has carried out four Mermaid installations, all of which involved shower enclosures. It was his latest project that enabled him to win the MP3 player. The Mermaid kit was purchased from Jackson’s Building Centre in Stamford, Lincolnshire.

Mermaid panels are quicker and easier to fit than tiles and no drying time is required. They incorporate a ‘Click-Seal’ profile, are guaranteed to be leakproof and watertight for ten years.

They come supplied in a convenient kit, which includes everything required for a stress-free installation. This includes: colour co-ordinated profiles; the Mermaid Transeal bottom seal system; adhesive; Sealux-N sealant; a mitre box; a revolutionary E-Cloth for cleaning; and – most importantly – a set of fixing guidelines!

Ian is delighted with his new iPod. 'I never win anything,' he admits, 'so this was a big surprise. Watertight Services provides plumbing and heating installation and maintenance in the Peterborough area. Our aim is to provide a professional and high quality service at an affordable price.

'Wall panels are becoming more and more popular, and I have always been a fan of Mermaid. It is definitely the market leader. Waterproof panels are a great alternative to tiles and the end results are excellent.'

Improve Your Refrigeration Sales this Summer with a Few Hints and Tips from Maytag UK

There's no better time to reap the benefits of the warmer weather, selling the latest in refrigeration. Top up your displays with a wide range of refrigeration and focus on a theme. This is a good time to make everyone aware of good food hygiene and safety and how to reduce food wastage. Focus on the benefits of the latest new features in refrigeration, persuading those with a refrigerator that's struggling, to change it!

Stuart Frost, Product Marketing Manager, Maytag UK, says, ‘The warm weather puts refrigeration under tremendous pressure and consumers may find their current appliance struggling. Make sure you are ready with a variety of the latest top featured models on display.

‘It's important that consumers know the best way to manage food in a refrigerator and the best place to put it. We throw away nearly £1 billion worth of food every year - unfinished and left in the fridge.’ He continues: ‘A study by the Food and Drink Federation has found that nearly one in ten of us are at risk of illness because of eating stale perishables. This can all be controlled with quality, multi-zoned refrigeration appliances. The various areas of different temperatures and humidity will keep food better for longer and in our Amana brand will even preserve it!’

Maytag's brands of refrigeration today have so much to offer. Not only should you encourage the purchase of a new refrigerator, there may be an opportunity for trading up by using a few tips on how to manage food safely.

Here are some tips to help you and your customers get the most from summer eating safely:

* Keep your fridge between 0 - 4 degrees centigrade; many new refrigerators offer advanced electronic temperature monitoring and control systems to manage this process for you.

* Don't overload your refrigerator which can reduce it's performance - consider selecting a larger appliance to suit your needs.

* Defrost the fridge and freezer regularly - it will work more efficiently - many modern appliances incorporate software solutions to automatically defrost; Maytag's brands will 'predict' the most convenient time to defrost for the household too.

* Defrost food thoroughly before cooking, and do this in the fridge. At fridge temperatures bacteria multiply slowly.

* Place food to be defrosted at the bottom of the fridge, so that any drips can't contaminate other food items. Larger appliances may feature multiple storage zones to optimise the storage of different food products.

* Keep raw meat covered at the bottom of the fridge and away from ready prepared foods and dishes. This avoids cross-contamination from raw meat juices dripping on to cooked food.

* Always make sure poultry and meat-based products such as burgers, sausages, chicken nuggets and kebabs are completely defrosted and thoroughly cooked.

* Allow leftovers to cool and as quickly as possible; then wrap and place in the fridge or freezer as soon as possible. Keep no longer than two days and always reheat thoroughly, and only once.

* Cover salads and vegetables when storing in the refrigerator to keep the moisture in. Multiple temperature/humidity controlled zones are perfect to optimise storage.

* If you are short of space in the fridge take out wine, beer and beverages and store elsewhere, buckets of ice etc., or consider the Amana Wine Cabinet.

* Keep food in the fridge for as long as possible prior to serving. Keep covered at all times to protect from pets, insects and birds etc.

Finally, make the most of Maytag UK's summer sale of refrigeration - reap some fine rewards for your efforts and you have until 30th September to grab the deals.
