Merlyn Announces New Appointments

Merlyn Industries has made two new appointments within the sales force, following the promotion of Regional Sales Manager, Tony Lever, to National Sales Manager for the new brand ‘Vivid by Merlyn’.

Oldham based Tony has been in the bathroom industry for 17 years, and started his career in retail. Since joining Merlyn in 2002 Tony has enjoyed considerable success and his promotion is well deserved.

Michael Jones will replace Tony, as Sales Manager covering the North East and Scotland area. He joins Merlyn from Aqualisa, where he has enjoyed success in a number of roles, most recently as Regional Manager. Michael is based in the Doncaster, and is looking forward to covering a territory that is ‘key to Merlyn's growth’.

Nicola Scott has also recently joined Merlyn as Internal Sales Manager Nicola will liaise with all the Merlyn Sales Representatives, co-ordinating orders and working with the logistics and warehousing team to ensure stock control levels and dispatches run smoothly.

Wellmann Contracts Promotes Lyndon

Wellmann Contracts has appointed Lyndon Brookes designer to handle the design of all directly placed kitchen orders from the building sector.

Prior to this Lyndon was a contract co-ordinator. He joined Wellmann two and a half years ago after considerable experience in high street, multiple and trade kitchen sales.

Laufen Welcomes Scott Taylor

Sanitary ware manufacturer Laufen has introduced new recruit Scott Taylor as Area Sales Manager for Scotland, North Cumbria and North East England.

RAK Ceramics' Sales Force Grows as Company Expands

Ceramic tile and sanitaryware manufacturer, RAK Ceramics, has appointed two new key managers to work within its rapidly expanding UK sales and administration team. Dean Pamphilon and Kimberley van Eyssen have joined RAK Ceramics.

Dean Pamphilon's role as contracts sales manager will focus on driving forward the company's market share in both tiles and sanitaryware via key property developers and housebuilders. Dean is ideally suited to his new post, having previously worked as sales director at Sorrento Stone & Ceramics and also distribution sales manager for Olympus Tiles.

Kimberley van Eyssen is RAK Ceramics' new general manager. Born in Surrey, Kimberley spent many years in South Africa before returning to the UK in 2003. She previously worked in management for Tesco and in South Africa her administration roles were varied and challenging.

‘Our two new personnel join RAK Ceramics at an exciting point in our expansion,’ said RAK Ceramics managing director Rob Jull. ‘We're currently launching a number of excellent new products, including Rondo designed by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

New Manager Takes to the Floor at Lathams

Newly appointed group hardwood flooring manager, Richard Pickles, is hoping to add a little extra flavour to James Latham's flooring division.

Richard has worked for the timber and panel distributor since he joined the company as a trainee in 1983, and has been involved in the sales side of a wide ranging product portfolio. After turning his attention to developing the sales of hardwood flooring, his efforts have been rewarded with this promotion.

Richard comments, ‘I am really looking forward to the challenge of this new role. Since its launch a few year's ago, the division has gone from strength to strength, and this is something I am hoping I can build on.

‘I will be looking to increase our flooring offering, improve all aspects of customer service and provide a greater focus on large distribution accounts across the UK.’

New National Sales Manager for Utopia

Utopia has appointed David Marchant as National Sales Manager. David will take up his new role at the end of November.

Joining from Grohe UK Ltd, where he held a senior sales position, David has almost 20 years' experience in the bathroom industry.

Before joining Grohe in 2001, he worked for such leading names as Roca, Ideal Standard and Shires.

Premium Appliance Brands Continues its Expansion

North West based white-goods company Premium Appliance Brands (PAB) has announced its second expansion in two months, with new signings Tristan Edwards and Barbara Nuttall.

Both join the team as sales administrators and will process sales orders, liaise with customers and distributors and maintain accounts, and will each focus on different sections of the marketplace.

Tristan Edwards joins the firm from Baylis Distribution and will process bulk deliveries to distributors and orders for small appliance brand Mistral.

Barbara whose last role was in the accounts and administrations department of Topgrade Sportswear Ltd, will handle sales administration across all warehouse deliveries and stock orders within PAB.

Norske Interiors has appointed a new agent, Mike Rogers, to continue the retailer sales service for Mermaid waterproof wall panels following the retirement of long serving agent, Arthur Leech.

Maytag UK's New Service Appointment

Maytag UK has appointed Steve Burns to Independent Service Partner Manager. Steve co-ordinates and trains Maytag's team of independent service agents, as well as developing new and existing relationships throughout Great Britain and Ireland.

Steve has joined from a service engineering background bringing a wealth of valuable experience having worked as a Senior Engineer with Hotpoint and a decade running his own white goods retail and service operation.
