Mayfair Strengthens Sales Team

To further strengthen its sales force, and bring greater brand-awareness to the UK market, Mayfair has made three new appointments to its sales team.

Having now spent 13 years with the company (starting in the warehouse and working his way up to the positions of sales office manager and then sales representative), Duncan Hornett has now been appointed National Sales Manager.

His responsibilities include overseeing all UK sales through his representatives, looking after key national accounts, and currently managing all business in Ireland.

Paul Farrell joins Mayfair from Jacuzzi UK, where he started as a product manager for taps and showers, and - most recently - he worked as an area sales manager for the Vernon Tutbury team selling into merchants.

Paul has been appointed as Regional Sales Manager for the North and Scotland.

The other Paul to join the company is Paul Groves, who has been appointed Regional Sales Manager for the South and Wales. This Paul was last at Waterfront, and previously worked for Greens and Rudge & Co.

Victoria & Albert Appoints New Sales Manager

Freestanding bath manufacturer Victoria & Albert has appointed a new sales support manager to cover the South East of England. Charlie Tull will be responsible for liaising with bathroom dealers throughout Sussex, Essex, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Kent.

Formerly a sales representative for Trident Distribution, Charlie is no stranger to the Victoria & Albert brand. His mission, working alongside Bedford-based distributors BBD, is to strengthen ties with displaying dealers: ‘I'm looking forward to consolidating our sales success in the South East and to provide an enhanced level of support to our dealers throughout the region,’ says Charlie.

24 year old Charlie is a keen rugby player and big automotive enthusiast - having even built his own car.


Expansion Continues at Merlyn with Two New Appointments

As part of the company’s expansion plans Merlyn Industries has announced two new appointments: Samantha Wright and Gary Hildrow. Sam joins the fast-growing marketing division of the company as Marketing Coordinator and Gary augments the Sales Team covering the North London and East Anglia Region.

Sam brings a wealth of experience as a Marketing Coordinator and Office Administrator to the UK Marketing office. Sam joins Merlyn from the IT and Telecoms sector.

 

Gary has enjoyed an extremely successful career in the Bathroom industry, which includes time with the Saint Gobain Group and PG Ceramics. Gary joins Merlyn from Novellini.

ArtiCAD Expands with Three New Appointments

ArtiCAD Limited, the CAD software specialist for kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and home offices, announces the appointment of three new members of staff as part of the company’s continued expansion.

Caroline Tenebaum has joined as a Regional Sales Co-ordinator with responsibility for setting up appointments and arranging demonstrations of ArtiCAD’s software to potential customers.

Sarraf Joins Whirlpool as Vice President, Corporate Innovation and Technology

Whirlpool Corporation announced on October 19th that Sanwal Sarraf will join the company as vice president, Corporate Innovation and Technology (CIT), effective October 23rd, 2006. He will succeed Hank Marcy, who previously was named vice president, Global Product Development, Food Stream Solutions.

Sarraf will be responsible for leading the CIT organisation and developing advanced product concepts that will create unique solutions for the company's global customers. He also will manage corporate electronics development and drive advanced electronics architectures and applications.

Sarraf joins Whirlpool from Brady Corporation in Milwaukee, Wis., where he served as corporate vice president, Research and Development, and managed global research and development operations in Europe, Asia, and North America. While at Brady he led initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and increase the pace of product development. Prior to that, Sarraf was corporate vice president and general manager of components for JDS Uniphase, the world's leading provider of broadband test and measurement solutions. He also previously served several years as general manager of Eastman Kodak's Digital Graphics Business.

Sarraf received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Bhagalpur University in India. He also holds a master's degree in mechanical and aerospace science, as well as a Ph.D. in laser energetics from the University of Rochester, New York.


Roman Appoints Product Manager

Roman’s Tray Plant Manager, Graham Speed, has been appointed Product Manager, after successfully establishing Roman’s in-house low-level tray plant manufacturing facility.

Graham joined Roman in 1999, initially working on the shop-floor. In 2001 he became a participant in Roman’s Student Scholarship Scheme. Through this scheme he attended Darlington Technical College.

Whilst participating in the Scholarship Scheme Graham completed collage courses which included; a HNC in Business and a HNC in Manufacturing Engineering, he went on to be named student of the year in 2004.

When Roman opened its Tray Plant in 2005, Graham was appointed Tray Plant Manager. His success in this role has motivated the move to his new position of Product Manager, where he will be working alongside Roman’s Design Team and reporting into the Commercial Director.

Continuing his education, this year Graham completed a Foundation degree in Engineering and is planning to top this up with a degree in Manufacturing Management.

Roman’s Commercial Director, Julian Pearson, comments; 'Graham has worked at Roman for 7 years and during that time has had the opportunity to utilise his skills in various departments across the business. He is a very motivated individual who will bring a wealth of industry and business knowledge to the Product Manager role. Showerlux Boosts Area Sales Manager Team

Gaggenau Expands Field Sales Team

With the arrival of two new area sales managers, luxury built in kitchen appliance specialist Gaggenau has expanded its field sales team, under the leadership of UK Sales Director Adam Roddan.

New to the team are Derek Paton and Carol Dee. They join Simon Plumbridge and Nick Waterton to make up Gaggenau's four-strong field sales team. Both Derek and Carol bring with them significant experience of the kitchen appliance market, as detailed below.

Derek Paton joined Gaggenau in July 2006 as area manager for the North West of England & Scotland. He joins from sister company Neff where he worked for 18 years in a similar role within the sales team, covering the North West of England. During his time with Neff, he was twice winner and once runner up of the coveted Ray McMillan Trophy for Area Manager of the Year Award and was held in high regard with all the dealers on his area. Between 1998 and 2001, Derek briefly held a dual role for Neff and Gaggenau when the two brands were sold together within the group, so already has some experience of the Gaggenau brand.

Comments Derek: ‘I am grateful for the chance to join the Gaggenau sales team after so many enjoyable years with Neff. It gives me a rare opportunity to change direction within the same group, maintaining continuity of service to the company and to the dealers at the same time.’

Carol Dee joined Gaggenau in August 2006 from LG Electronics where she was Regional Sales Manager for two and a half years. Prior to that, she spent 14 years with the Indesit group as Regional Sales Manager for the Cannon, Creda & Hotpoint brands. At Gaggenau, Carol is covering the South West of England as area sales manager for the company, replacing Julia Bunney who left earlier this year. Liam Walker has Designs on Shades

Liam Walker has recently joined Shades Furniture as product designer. Working from the company's West Yorkshire-based design studio, Liam will be responsible for designing inspiring new ranges for the company's bathroom portfolio and is looking forward to working within an industry, which he describes as ‘still fairly young with plenty of room for innovation’.

Victoria & Albert Baths Announces New Personnel

Freestanding bath manufacturer, Victoria & Albert Baths has promoted Didier Schmitt to General Manager and Kelly Oliver-Wilcox to Sales Office Manager. Based at the new 27,000 sq.ft Telford HQ, they report directly to Joe Matthews, Managing Director.

Another new addition, Amanda Passmore joins as Sales Office Administration Assistant reporting to Miss Oliver-Wilcox. Her role incorporates processing UK orders and customer service duties.
