Lights and Shadows at Cersaie with the New Brillant and Contemporanea Collections

At the 23rd Cersaie Iris Ceramica presented its latest creations: two collections of tiles for creative, dynamic flooring and finishes.

Dynamism, creativity, decoration, reflection: four key concepts expressing the qualities of the new Iris Ceramica tile collections, unveiled at Cersaie 2006.
Brilliant and Contemporanea are two collections based on a new concept of decoration that nonetheless evokes the classic vintage style of today's most elegant, glamorous interiors.

Floral motifs, light effects and pearly hues for Contemporanea, a collection created to interact with the new decorative spaces and blend into them: finishing tiles in strong hues, with sensual modern textures to decorate spaces and blend in perfectly with minimal-chic furnishings.

Scratches of light and glossy surfaces for Brilliant, a tile collection intended for contract and interior design.

Matter becomes light and complements, in new formats that give free rein to the designer's creativity and respond to light to add a warm, sensuous note to your interiors.

Two top collections for the Iris Ceramica brand, were back at Cersaie this year to present its elegant, innovative materials, to attract attention with their unusual textures and original content.

The Candy Tile Co Introduces Buxton Tile Range

The Candy Tile Company, a division of BCT Ltd, has launched a new range, Buxton, along with additions to six existing ranges to further enhance its collection.

With earthy and neutral shades always a popular choice, the new range, Buxton, has been designed to offer a natural stone texture with a subtle satin finish in white, light and dark beige. Featuring a softly structured, slate-like surface, the 248x398mm tile provides a timeless feel that would suit any surroundings. A large size, real marble mosaic strip (300x48mm), to complement the field tiles, is also available in both beige and black/white colourways.

Additions to existing ranges
A specially-designed, ‘easy to fix’ mosaic tile in a rectangular format (298x398mm), has been included in The Candy Tile ranges: Lichfield, Chester and Candy White.

Available in both the grey and beige colourways of the Lichfield range , the Lichfield Mosaic contains a combination of both light and mid Lichfield tones. This looks particularly striking when coupled with the Lichfield Glass strips.

Designed to co-ordinate with the existing field tiles in the Chester range, the Chester Mosaic (below right) features light and dark beige shades.

Joining the classic Candy White range, are the gloss white Candy Mosaic (248x398mm) and Candy Tablette (248x398mm). With a gloss finish, and suitable for both bathrooms and kitchens, they will work well in both contemporary and period interiors.

Other new elements include:

- the Chester Deva Strip (248x40mm) and insert (248x398mm), complementing the Light and Dark beige Chester field tiles. The insert is printed on the Chester Light field tile and can be used vertically to create a continuous border;

- a third, lighter beige field tile (248x331mm) has been introduced to the ever-popular Richmond range featuring a simple linear design with elegant ‘platinum’ detailing;

- the Silk range sees the introduction of the Silk Flower strip (248x80mm), a photographic floral design, offering a modern twist to a traditional theme and available in black, pink and aqua. Also new to the range is the Silk Thread insert (248x398mm) which coordinates with the existing Thread strip (248x40mm);

- two new profile strips have also been introduced to the Reflections range. The Apollo strip (198x70mm) is designed to appeal to a younger audience, and features sun and floral motifs. The Chequer strip (198x70mm) features a number of squares made of delicately combined marble and stone textures;

- and finally, meeting the current home trends for retro design, the new Reflections Retro strip (248x80mm) and insert (248x398mm) have a Fifties feel, but will bring a modern style to the bathroom.

The launch is being supported with new product information pages for the Candy Tile Presenter, point of sale displays, high-quality room set photography and a consumer PR campaign with the home interest press.

PWS Step Ahead with Limestone Flooring

PWS says that its new stone flooring range is surpassing original expectations, becoming an increasingly successful new product area in the company's portfolio.

Encompassing a wide range of natural materials, the collection includes slate, marble, travertine and limestone and although premium priced products it appears that consumers do not appear daunted to spend serious money on quality flooring.

The new limestone flooring options from PWS include Lisboa Cream and Marbella, neutral colourways that highlight the beauty of the natural stone. There are two sizes of floor tile available, 400x400mm or 600x400mm. Stone is an elegant and timeless material that is very much part of our ancient heritage having graced homes and buildings for thousands of years. However, in spite of its history, limestone is a versatile material and although it captures the antiquity of years gone by it is perfectly at home in a modern kitchen scheme.

Imperial Bathrooms Launches Unique Wall Tile Collection

Designed to complement its handcrafted collection of timeless and modern classic bathroom products, British manufacturer, Imperial Bathrooms, has introduced a range of antique crackle-glaze wall tiles. As with so many of the company’s products, these tiles feature an additional clear glaze that provides a protective seal to guard against staining and colour discolouration.

Managing Director Antonio Garrido explains: 'Imperial Bathrooms’ products are all about opulence and distinction and, through extensive market research, we have identified a niche opportunity to supply a prestigious range of wall tiles that befits the superiority of our bathroom offering. Combining period style with modern quality, the outstanding technical and aesthetic properties of our tile collection not only enable us to meet the demanding expectations of our target audience, they help complete a customised and exclusive bathroom solution.'

Using the latest manufacturing technology, Imperial Bathrooms has created an exclusive range of classic brick shaped and square, white-bodied tiles using the highest quality clay. In order to replicate an authentic handmade appearance, each tile features irregular edges and has an elegant lustrous surface for a distinctive, iridescent effect that is reminiscent of the turn-of the-century look.

Outstanding aesthetics aside, however, it is thetechnical properties of these tiles that set them apart from others, as their separate protective sealing glaze means that, amongst other benefits, they will not stain or discolour in years to come.

Alongside White Linen and Cream Haze, Imperial Bathrooms’ new tile collection incorporates five other subtle pastel shades – Ivory Shell, Canvas Wheat, Grey Ecru, Sage Thistle and Blue Nimbus. Complementing both contemporary and traditional bathroom interiors, these colours may be used to create a single colour backdrop or combined to provide a multi-coloured effect.

Imperial Bathrooms’ tile collection is available in two sizes - 13 x 13cm and 6.5 x 13 cm - and further detail may be created using an extensive choice of complementary dado tiles, capping strips and glass mosaic tiles available in grey, white and cream.
