Craven Dunnill Provides Tiles for Every Room in the House

Traditionally, tiles have fulfilled their purpose in the kitchen and bathroom of most homes but Craven Dunnill says that it continues to extend the boundaries beyond the utilitarian requirements of tiles to create sophisticated chic in every room of the house.

With the introduction of stone-look, large format, rectified and textured, floor and wall tiles are now equally suitable in the dining room, family room, conservatory, and even the bedroom. Craven Dunnill has introduced a number of ranges which demonstrate this trend.

The practicalities of using such tiles throughout the house are endless. They are easy to clean and maintain, they help fight the war against allergies, they are extremely long-lasting and they are ideal with under-floor heating.

Craven Dunnill has used Stonehenge (pictured), a range of stone-look floor and wall tiles, to create a cool, contemporary look for the dining room. Available in dramatic colour options of black, purple, green and beige, the range also features a new mosaic design of ceramic tile and has a sleek slate-effect finish in subtle sheen. Priced from around £24.70m2 for a 300 x 300mm floor and wall tile and around £8.65 per 300 x 300mm sheet of mosaic tile, the range is available from Craven Dunnill's Renaissance Platinum Collection.

Also from the same Renaissance Platinum collection, Jaca has been used on the floor to create a mellow, sophisticated look for the bedroom. Priced from around £38.30 for a 630 x 440mm floor and wall tile and around £4.94 for a 316 x 316mm square mosaic tile, it is available in Vision (deep grey) and Marengo (chocolate).

Craven Dunnill is a distributor and manufacturer of floor and wall tiles in the UK. It has two major collections of over 100 designs of wall and floor tiles: Renaissance Gold and Renaissance Platinum, which cover the spectrum of modern to classical styled tiles.

RAK Ceramics UK Announces Latest Platinum Dealer

Tile and sanitaryware manufacturer RAK Ceramics UK has announced Express of Hereford as the company’s latest Platinum Medal Dealer. The outlet now features over 3,000 sq ft of coordinated roomsets featuring RAK Ceramics tiles and sanitaryware along with brassware and accessories. Fully designed and fitted by RAK Ceramics' showroom installation team, the dedicated display area features one of the widest ranges of RAK products in the UK and is intended as a centre of excellence for consumers and trade specifiers to gain inspiration for their bathroom projects.

Express has a strong reputation for a no-hassle end-to-end service built up over 22 years of trading. Business is evenly split between trade and consumer, with the latter being serviced, where required, by 10 teams of installers. Commitment to product availability is another major factor, with Express holding up to 400 tonnes of tile stock at any one time at the company's 40,000 sq ft operation. This regional strength is backed up by local distributor RAK UK West, which supplies pallet loads of tiles and sanitaryware to Hereford ex-stock from its Bristol hub.

David Preedy, joint proprietor of Express with his wife Caroline says, ‘I've always believed that it should be a team thing with suppliers. The level of back-up and service that we've enjoyed in becoming a RAK Platinum Dealer has been typical of our experience of RAK over the years – the company has met its promises and taken great pride in its work. Our customers want the best and it's our job to show the best, at a price that is competitive and with good availability too. The tile side of the business, especially RAK porcelain, is growing very quickly and the single source of supply for tiles and sanitaryware really works for us - it's the way forward.’

Simon Morgan, Express General Manager says, ‘We've been a RAK Gold Medal dealer for some time and wanted to make the next step up. Becoming a RAK Platinum Medal dealer has been a two way commitment which has really paid off for us - the showroom looks stunning and all of the roomsets really work as inspirational designs, incorporating wall and floor finishes, furniture and pottery to great effect. As an independent you can't sit down and wait for orders, so achieving a match between RAK's affordable all-inclusive bathroom designs and our all-inclusive service has been very beneficial.’

Natural Looking Tiles - Naturally Great Value: RAK Ceramics Launches new Roma Collection

Tile and sanitaryware manufacturers RAK Ceramics has launched a new complete range of high value ceramic tiles in the UK. Roma features subtle finishes inspired from nature and comes in a vast range of sizes right up to large format 29 x 59.5cm.

Aggressively priced to make a real impact with dealers, RAK anticipates the collection to be a great success - the launch coincides with a special UK wide marketing campaign that offers additional discounts of up to 55% on full pallet orders of tiles.

Roma tiles come in glossy and matt finishes in Ivory, Beige or Brown colours. Available formats suitable for both wall and floor include boarder listellos and mixed mosaics.

Their subtle markings hint at premium natural stone, providing a standard of finish that has previously unattainable at this highly competitive price point.

Rob Jull, RAK Ceramics UK Managing Director says, ‘Dealers love our RAK porcelain tiles and this latest ceramic range offers even better value for money and ease of fitting.

'Inspired by nature, Roma provides design aware specifiers and home owners with a fabulous opportunity to coordinate the whole bathroom in a beautiful finish.

'Tile dealers take note - our new pallet rate discounts relevant to all our ranges, including Roma, may prove irresistible!’

Craven Dunnill Maximises the Appearance of Space with Larger Tiles and Random Mosaics

Craven Dunnill has introduced Metope, a range of floor and wall tiles, which offers both the new, larger tiles and unusual, random mosaics. In subtle, stone-look tones of beige or off-white, the Metope large format tiles are designed to be used on both floors and walls to create an impression of boundary-free spaciousness. Accents and definition are then created using the contemporary styled mosaics and listellos.

Metope is the new addition to the Renaissance Platinum Collection and is the latest contemporary range of high quality wall and floor tiles from Craven Dunnill.

Metope is available in two colours bianco and beige and in two finishes - natural and lappato (honed), the latter giving a smooth sheen. The large tile size is 500 x 350mm. All the large tiles are rectified requiring minimal grout to enhance the natural stone look of the range.

The Metope range is made from glazed porcelain suitable for use on wall or floor, inside or out. The natural finish is for use on external floors. The range is supplemented with two mesh-mounted mosaics in each colour. The random mesh-mounted mosaic is size 490 x 350mm. These can be used on feature walls as accents in a room or to create panels or borders in a floor.

The image shows the Metope range on the floor and wall of a wet room with the use of random and straight mosaics to emphasise the shower and sink areas and to create the boundary-free feel to the room.

Tiles Supplied for Daily Mail Property Award Development

Craven Dunnill supplied all the ceramic wall and floor tiles for the kitchens and bathrooms in the development, having established a reputation for punctual on-site delivery, high quality product and excellent customer support.

Holland Park is an elegant development in Bramhall, Cheshire comprising five-bedroom, detached villas starting at around £915,000 and four-bedroom, semi-detached houses selling at around £690,000. Cliveden Homes designed the properties to be highly aspirational combining contemporary interior design with high quality craftsmanship. All the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and the house layouts include sunrooms and studies. Interior Designer, Adele Baddeley, chose a selection of subtle-hued floor and wall tiles from Craven Dunnill's Renaissance Platinum collection including matching stone-look, large format floor and wall tiles from the Teak range made by Tau Ceramica.

Craven Dunnill offers a stocked range of over 10,000 different wall and floor tiles, many of which can be supplied with an element of exclusivity, even for smaller developments at competitive prices. Peter Sage, Contract Sales Manager emphasises how the company sets out to be more than a supplier of tiles: ‘Our whole approach is to provide complete solutions for our customers, rather than just to sell them tiles - we spend time understanding the look they want to achieve and the functional specification and will always come up with a wide choice of options’.
The company then supports its customer by providing next day site delivery across the UK.

Lights and Shadows at Cersaie with the New Brillant and Contemporanea Collections

At the 23rd Cersaie Iris Ceramica presented its latest creations: two collections of tiles for creative, dynamic flooring and finishes.

Dynamism, creativity, decoration, reflection: four key concepts expressing the qualities of the new Iris Ceramica tile collections, unveiled at Cersaie 2006.
Brilliant and Contemporanea are two collections based on a new concept of decoration that nonetheless evokes the classic vintage style of today's most elegant, glamorous interiors.

Floral motifs, light effects and pearly hues for Contemporanea, a collection created to interact with the new decorative spaces and blend into them: finishing tiles in strong hues, with sensual modern textures to decorate spaces and blend in perfectly with minimal-chic furnishings.

Scratches of light and glossy surfaces for Brilliant, a tile collection intended for contract and interior design.

Matter becomes light and complements, in new formats that give free rein to the designer's creativity and respond to light to add a warm, sensuous note to your interiors.

Two top collections for the Iris Ceramica brand, were back at Cersaie this year to present its elegant, innovative materials, to attract attention with their unusual textures and original content.

The Candy Tile Co Introduces Buxton Tile Range

The Candy Tile Company, a division of BCT Ltd, has launched a new range, Buxton, along with additions to six existing ranges to further enhance its collection.

With earthy and neutral shades always a popular choice, the new range, Buxton, has been designed to offer a natural stone texture with a subtle satin finish in white, light and dark beige. Featuring a softly structured, slate-like surface, the 248x398mm tile provides a timeless feel that would suit any surroundings. A large size, real marble mosaic strip (300x48mm), to complement the field tiles, is also available in both beige and black/white colourways.

Additions to existing ranges
A specially-designed, ‘easy to fix’ mosaic tile in a rectangular format (298x398mm), has been included in The Candy Tile ranges: Lichfield, Chester and Candy White.

Available in both the grey and beige colourways of the Lichfield range , the Lichfield Mosaic contains a combination of both light and mid Lichfield tones. This looks particularly striking when coupled with the Lichfield Glass strips.

Joining the classic Candy White range, are the gloss white Candy Mosaic (248x398mm) and Candy Tablette (248x398mm). With a gloss finish, and suitable for both bathrooms and kitchens, they will work well in both contemporary and period interiors.

Other new elements include:

- the Chester Deva Strip (248x40mm) and insert (248x398mm), complementing the Light and Dark beige Chester field tiles. The insert is printed on the Chester Light field tile and can be used vertically to create a continuous border;

- a third, lighter beige field tile (248x331mm) has been introduced to the ever-popular Richmond range featuring a simple linear design with elegant ‘platinum’ detailing;

- the Silk range sees the introduction of the Silk Flower strip (248x80mm), a photographic floral design, offering a modern twist to a traditional theme and available in black, pink and aqua. Also new to the range is the Silk Thread insert (248x398mm) which coordinates with the existing Thread strip (248x40mm);

- two new profile strips have also been introduced to the Reflections range. The Apollo strip (198x70mm) is designed to appeal to a younger audience, and features sun and floral motifs. The Chequer strip (198x70mm) features a number of squares made of delicately combined marble and stone textures;

- and finally, meeting the current home trends for retro design, the new Reflections Retro strip (248x80mm) and insert (248x398mm) have a Fifties feel, but will bring a modern style to the bathroom.

The launch is being supported with new product information pages for the Candy Tile Presenter, point of sale displays, high-quality room set photography and a consumer PR campaign with the home interest press.

PWS Step Ahead with Limestone Flooring

PWS says that its new stone flooring range is surpassing original expectations, becoming an increasingly successful new product area in the company's portfolio.

Encompassing a wide range of natural materials, the collection includes slate, marble, travertine and limestone and although premium priced products it appears that consumers do not appear daunted to spend serious money on quality flooring.

The new limestone flooring options from PWS include Lisboa Cream and Marbella, neutral colourways that highlight the beauty of the natural stone. There are two sizes of floor tile available, 400x400mm or 600x400mm. Stone is an elegant and timeless material that is very much part of our ancient heritage having graced homes and buildings for thousands of years. However, in spite of its history, limestone is a versatile material and although it captures the antiquity of years gone by it is perfectly at home in a modern kitchen scheme.

Imperial Bathrooms Launches Unique Wall Tile Collection

Designed to complement its handcrafted collection of timeless and modern classic bathroom products, British manufacturer, Imperial Bathrooms, has introduced a range of antique crackle-glaze wall tiles. As with so many of the company’s products, these tiles feature an additional clear glaze that provides a protective seal to guard against staining and colour discolouration.

Managing Director Antonio Garrido explains: 'Imperial Bathrooms’ products are all about opulence and distinction and, through extensive market research, we have identified a niche opportunity to supply a prestigious range of wall tiles that befits the superiority of our bathroom offering. Combining period style with modern quality, the outstanding technical and aesthetic properties of our tile collection not only enable us to meet the demanding expectations of our target audience, they help complete a customised and exclusive bathroom solution.'

Using the latest manufacturing technology, Imperial Bathrooms has created an exclusive range of classic brick shaped and square, white-bodied tiles using the highest quality clay. In order to replicate an authentic handmade appearance, each tile features irregular edges and has an elegant lustrous surface for a distinctive, iridescent effect that is reminiscent of the turn-of the-century look.

Outstanding aesthetics aside, however, it is thetechnical properties of these tiles that set them apart from others, as their separate protective sealing glaze means that, amongst other benefits, they will not stain or discolour in years to come.

Alongside White Linen and Cream Haze, Imperial Bathrooms’ new tile collection incorporates five other subtle pastel shades – Ivory Shell, Canvas Wheat, Grey Ecru, Sage Thistle and Blue Nimbus. Complementing both contemporary and traditional bathroom interiors, these colours may be used to create a single colour backdrop or combined to provide a multi-coloured effect.

Imperial Bathrooms’ tile collection is available in two sizes - 13 x 13cm and 6.5 x 13 cm - and further detail may be created using an extensive choice of complementary dado tiles, capping strips and glass mosaic tiles available in grey, white and cream.

For further information on Imperial Bathrooms’ tile collection visit http://www.imperial-bathrooms.com or contact the customer services team on 0870 60 61 62 3 for a copy of the new 2006 Design Guide. Imperial Bathrooms – A Modern Classic.
