Lakes Bathrooms launches in USA

* LAKES.jpgLakes Bathrooms has launched a new business in the United States. The shower enclosure and bathroom products manufacturer has joined forces with Ark Bathrooms to form Lakes Bathrooms LLC, a subsidiary of the UK parent.

Based in Chicago, Illinois, the company will initially serve the bathroom retailers in this Midwest city, with plans to expand across the USA in due course.

According to Lakes Bathrooms, Chicago was chosen as the third most populated city in the US as, with its metropolitan area, it houses 9.5 million people. The market is well known by Ark Showers, which incorporated in 2010 and found success in the sale of bath screens or 'bathtub shower screens' as they are called in the States.

The contract signed conveys exclusive rights for Lakes Bathrooms LLC to distribute a wide selection of the UK manufacturer's products in the USA, including designs from its Classic and Coastline Collections, plus products from its new Mirror range.

Announcing its US expansion, managing director, Robin Craddock, stated: "We are excited at the opportunity that the US market poses for Lakes Bathrooms. Based on over 20 years' success in the European market and our positive experience in Australia, we are delighted to incorporate Lakes Bathrooms LLC to create a retail channel for customers in the States. From careful research, we know that our products are very competitively priced for the US and our ethos of quality and service is perfectly positioned."

Andrew Kirkwood, who will direct operations for Lakes Bathrooms LLC, brings many years of local market experience to the deal: "We have found that the US market is more than ready for high quality shower products and has embraced the European trend for replacing baths with larger showers or creating dual purpose bathing by adding a shower screen to an existing bath," he says. "The reaction to Lakes Bathrooms has been overwhelmingly positive and we're highly optimistic about the potential that we face."
