Christian Smith takes on national account controller role at Whirlpool UK Appliances

Whirlpool UK Appliances has promoted Christian Smith to national account controller, responsible for AO.com. Christian joined the appliance giant almost seven years ago and has held various sales roles there, initially being responsible for the laundry category.

He has also held a role within the small domestic appliance team, responsible for the category's approach to the UK market.

Prior to joining the company, Christian developed Phillips as a consumer lifestyle brand across Europe as part of his leading national accounts role. He was responsible for all UK independent retailers with LG Electronics and spent 10 years with Sharp Electronics as a regional sales manager.

Christian has now spent three years working closely with AO.com as a national account manager where he has seen the scale of the business develop substantially. The recent integration of Whirlpool Corporation and Indesit Company provides him with a positive outlook on the future.

"I'm very pleased to announce my new position," he says. "This new role will allow me to continue to consolidate on our position as the global leading white goods manufacturer as well as focussing on ensuring our individual brands work in harmony."
