Glen Dimplex Home Appliances highlights ongoing UK commitment
Kitchen appliance manufacturer, Glen Dimplex Home Appliances, has revealed that its ongoing commitment to manufacturing in the UK has resulted in 90% of its cooking products now being produced at its Merseyside base.
After a full review of its portfolio, GDHA has transferred the production of a wide range of products across its Stoves, Belling and New World brands back to the UK, most notably the new Stoves built-in collection.
And to further underline the commitment to home grown innovation, all new cooking products launched in 2010 - a grand total of 332 across the brands - were also 'Made in Britain'.
"We pledged to manufacture as many of our products as possible in the UK just over 12 months ago and have since taken every opportunity to fulfil this promise," says Steve Dickson, Commercial Manager for Stoves and Belling at GDHA. "As far as our brands go, 2010 was a great year for British innovation and we are extremely proud to have launched so many, quality Made in Britain appliances.
"Another benefit of manufacturing in the UK is that we have seen a significant increase in quality across the product ranges, reflected in a reduction in the number of calls to our customer care centre.
"As the only remaining UK based manufacturer of appliances across all cooking categories, we will undertake further homegrown product development in 2011. We believe that commitment to designing and manufacturing in this country is something that British consumers really appreciate."
