Whirlpool announces first ever 'National Quiet Day'
Recognised for its dedication to innovation and quiet technology, Whirlpool, has announced the very first National Quiet Day, taking place on Wednesday 14th September 2016.
Peace and quiet is good for you, both physically and mentally. Studies have shown that taking time for quiet can have a positive effect on your body and in some cases can even lower blood pressure and reduce the heart rate. However, it is increasingly difficult in today's world to experience real quiet, and that's why Whirlpool, the maker of the washing machine with the quietest spin cycle on the market, is establishing a National Quiet Day.
In these busy times, more people are suffering from stress. Often made worse by the relentless invasion of unwanted noise in our lives, stress levels can be lowered by reducing your exposure to noise and taking a little sanctuary in silence. National Quiet Day is therefore the perfect opportunity to encourage a little more serenity into the world, de-stress and enjoy a little peace for a change.
The second Wednesday in September will be devoted to inspiring all of us to find a little more harmony in our everyday lives, and Whirlpool is launching a social media campaign to encourage people to take a little time out of their day to enjoy some peace and quiet. There will also be the chance to win a Whirlpool Supreme Care washing machine with a whisper quiet spin cycle of only 68 decibels, on the dedicated National Quiet Day website.
Jennifer Taylor, senior brand manager, Whirlpool, says: "With today's society suffering from an increasing busyness, everyone's daily life is full of sound and activity. Unwanted noises fill our ears, and sometimes we don't realise the negative effect that noise has on all of us.
"While Whirlpool understands that finding a whole day away from noise would be impossible ?for many people, we do urge you to take a little time on 14th September to enjoy some peace and quiet, even if only for a moment."
