Works of art that heat your living space too!

* Jaga-Play-142.jpegAway from the WCs, Jaga Heating Products (UK)'s stand was radiating with attractive heating designs and state of the art, eco-friendly technology. "They aren't radiators, they're convectors," Steve Charles, pictured here with a few of the eye-catching, recycled material designs, explained to me.

Play is designed with children in mind. Made out of wood, with rounded corners, concealed pipes and a cool-to-touch surfaces (even at the highest output), it is one of the safest radiators around. It comes in a variety of vibrant colours and performs well - and is extremely efficient. Specifiers and building occupants may design any colour combination they wish.  This product uses Jaga's popular Low H2O low mass, low water content technology, using one tenth of the weight and water content of a standard steel panel radiator.

The Vertiga Kirei offers a vastly different but environmentally friendly new option. Exceptionally popular with architects, interior designers and building services specifiers, this product offers an eye-catching appearance whilst having a high output at low cost. It is made from post-harvest Sorghum plant stalk remains, which are woven and heat-pressed, forming a sustainable and strong casing. This recycling process means that each unit has a different granular finish and is therefore unique.

This product works well with condensing boilers and heat pumps, performing at optimal levels. The Vertiga's painted metal sidewall panels conceal all technical components including the heat exchangers, fans, connections and power supply. The specific design of Vertiga allows convected air to be produced from its sides, providing the vertical radiator with enough power to operate in a low temperature heating system.

The Geo is an outstanding artistic feature and is highly energy-efficient. Its surface is made from granulated natural stone and its smooth and seamless finish makes it easy to maintain, while the slightly curved stone surface radiates warmth to every corner of the room.

What amazes me about this selection of heating solutions is the combination of style and technical design that has gone into making these the sustainable heating systems of the future. They look like works of art, but serve a more important purpose...
