Endless design possibilities with Rehau's Rauvisio range
Our guided tour of Rehau's stand introduced us to several new products from its stylish and contemporary Rauvisio range, which features 10 products and recently has been strengthened by some new additions, including the Rauvisio Crystal Mirror, Rauvisio Crystal Magnetic and Rauvisio Crystal Decor, to provide even further options for adding a touch of elegance and style to the home.
Technically known as polymeric glass, Rehau's Rauvisio Crystal Mirror is a premium product and part of Rehau's Rauvisio Crystal range. It consists of a 2mm clear PMMA acrylic layer with a transparent scratch-resistant coating. The Rauvisio Crystal Mirror material boasts all the same flexibility, durability and quality of the Rauvisio Crystal range but has the flatness and true mirror reflection of real glass.
As with the rest of the Rauvisio Crystal range, Crystal Mirror polymeric surfacing can be used for a variety of domestic and commercial applications. The product is easy and manageable to work with and is 10 times more break resistant than real glass with superior durability. It is also colour stable, so it won't fade under prolonged exposure to UV, extending the lifespan of the furniture overall.
Its waterproof surface makes it a great option for bathrooms and shower rooms in homes or big hotels. Other places where the Rauvisio Crystal range really shines is the leisure industry, office furniture, retail display units, correctional facilities, hospitals or even motorhomes. The list is endless thanks to its design, hygiene, weight saving and safety properties.
The Rauvisio Crystal Magnetic glass is also impressive with its numerous design possibilities. The magnetic function is created by a thin steel inlay, not visible on the surface. Whether used with a magnetic strip for the kitchen or as a whiteboard in the office - Rauvisio Crystal Magnetic gives you a variety of design possibilities. Its sophisticated design and highly scratch resistant surface make it an ideal application choice for use in offices or living rooms. What's more, its dirt resistant coating makes the surface incredibly easy to clean!
Scott Williams, product manager within the Furniture Solutions division at Rehau told us: "In today's design market, furniture with mirrored or reflective surfaces is highly desirable, bringing light and depth to even the smallest of spaces.
"However, working with mirrored glass can have its limitations and what customers want cannot always be achieved with it. In response to the market demand for smart glass material, we launched our Rauvisio range and its portfolio of products that has created materials aesthetically as beautiful as real glass yet has less of its limitations.
