Bathroom entrepreneur opens London Stock Exchange

* Bathroom-entrepreneur-LSE.jpgWarren Ginsberg, founder of bathroom accessories supplier HiB, joined other business leaders in opening the market at the London Stock Exchange this week. The spectacular ritual involves a bespoke market opening mechanism, launched using an engraved glass tablet, which is given to the individual opening the market as a memento of the day.

HiB was invited to join the ceremony as part of the launch of study entitled '100 Stories of Growth - Capital at Work' which looks at the stories of some of the country's most successful SMEs. It was one of the first companies to share its journey, describing how it had carved out a niche supplying high-end designer cabinets and mirrors to independent retailers in the UK and the Middle East.

The proprietary research findings look at how UK SMEs have deployed capital - financial human, intellectual and emotional - to grow and succeed. This evidence was used to inform recommendations as to where businesses need more support to provide in today's economic climate. There was also a keynote address by Andrew Griffiths MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Minister for Small Business, Consumers and Corporate Responsibility.

"It was an honour to join so many inspiring entrepreneurs in such a prestigious and historic ceremony as opening the London Stock Exchange," says Warren. "SMEs are the lifeblood of our economy, so it's vital that that we all share our experiences to ensure the UK remains globally competitive."
