Belling launches charity recipe book to inspire fun family cooking

* Belling-charity-cookbook.jpgBritish home appliance brand Belling has teamed up with children's charity Henry to launch a new recipe book to help parents and children enjoy cooking good, healthy food together. The book will be made available for free via the charity, with the aim of being accessible to as many young families as possible.

The cookbook contains 10 nutritious recipes, contributed by both food bloggers and families who were asked to submit their favourite recipes via social media. These include a range of sweet and savoury meals, including veggie lentil chilli, rainbow pancakes, and 'Fasta pasta'.

All recipes included in the book are simple, nutritious and easy to prepare. The book was created with children in mind, with the aim of getting them in the kitchen with their parents or carers as a fun bonding experience, to learn about where food comes from, and to develop essential life skills.

Copies of the cookbook will be made available through Henry, a registered children's charity which helps children and young families get the best start in life through family support, online information, and community outreach projects. The book is also free to download from the Belling website, and available on iBooks.

Jane Rylands, head of marketing communications at Belling, says of the initiative: "Getting children interested in cooking and nurturing their love for good, healthy food is incredibly important. Not only can cooking be a fun bonding experience for families, but it teaches key skills that children will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

"From learning about different ingredients to understanding how to safely prepare them, we understand that learning to cook from an early age can help kids make healthy choices down the line. That's why we wanted to create this cookbook full of simple, nutritious recipes that parents and kids will love to roll up their sleeves and make - and eat - together."

Kim Roberts, chief executive of Henry, says: "Cooking as a family is often a treasured memory for both children and parents. With the help of the delicious recipes, top cooking tips, and safety advice that this book offers, we hope that it will help instil a love for cooking in budding chefs of all ages."

The recipe book is available for free from Henry by request, and copies can be downloaded from iBooks or from:
