Season's greetings add up for charity

* Abode-Seasons-Greetings.jpgEntering into the spirit of the season while reducing the amount of non-recyclable waste that Christmas can bring, tap and sink manufacturer Abode replaced the tradition of giving Christmas cards with a charity donation, raising money for local people in need.

For 2018 Abode sent the money it would normally spend on purchasing and posting Christmas cards to its customers, straight to the EyUp Charity. The organisation supports the work of South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in making a difference to the community, mental health, wellbeing and learning disability services.

The charity helps with things for hospital ward areas such as games or equipment and play areas and comfy chairs for visitor areas. It also helps fund community groups and service user trips or funding for community groups, to help boost wellbeing and aid recovery.

"Supporting the community in whatever way we can is important to Abode all year round, and particularly so at Christmas which can be a difficult time for many people," explains Abode marketing manager Leanne Adamson. "Instead of sending corporate Christmas cards, for the last few years we have donated the money to local charitable causes.

"The EyUp Charity which helps to spread health and happiness throughout Yorkshire, something that we are only too pleased to support."
