New space saving cooling from Amica

Perfect for a kitchen where space is short or as a replacement for an older appliance, Amica's new FC2093 larder fridge is just 55cm wide compared to the usual 60cm. There is a strong replacement market for 55cm fridges for both consumers looking for extra storage and this size is also popular in social housing.

The fridge is 1235mm high so there's an impressive 204 litres of cooled storage space - perfect for fresh foods. It has four shelves, a roomy salad crisper, four spacious door balconies and has an A+ energy rating.

"The FC2093 is the ideal choice for a family that buys a lot of fresh food or looking for spill-over-space," says Amica's marketing manager Steve Corbett.

"The recent rise in energy costs has made consumers more aware of the need to reduce electricity consumption - and replacing an old fridge is one of the best ways to save.

"Fridges and freezers are running 24 hours a day and many older kitchen appliances are likely to use many times more energy over life than was used to manufacture them. Typically, an A+ rated fridge freezer bought now is over 49% cheaper to run than one bought in 1991 because it uses much less energy. "
