BMA marks World Plumbing Day by calling for more education on water efficiency

* BMA-World-Plumbing-Day.jpgThe Bathroom Manufacturers Association, called for more education on water efficiency to mark World Plumbing Day (11 March).

Initiated by the World Plumbing Council, the day brought together the international plumbing community to promote the link between good quality plumbing, health, environmental sustainability and - increasingly - economic prosperity.

"We fully support World Plumbing Day and the need to educate and raise awareness of how to use water wisely, so that we canreduce our waste, thus ensuring we have water for tomorrow," said BMA CEO Yvonne Orgill.

"Plumbers have a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness and help people choose bathroom products that save water and energy by promoting the Unified Water Label.

"The Unified Water Label offers consumers clear information in order to understand more about the bathroom products they purchase, helping consumers to make informed choices about the environmental and cost-saving benefits of the products they select, whilst maintaining the performance they expect.

"There are currently 13,217 products and 149 brands already using the Unified Water Label. I hope that by raising awareness this World Plumbing day, we can encourage more companies to adopt its use."
