The company's beautiful portfolio of gold leaf tesserae is made in the last furnace permitted to operate with fire in Venice.

The stunning tesserae are handmade with each piece reflecting detailed Venetian craftsmanship. Glass is combined with 24 karat gold to create a high-quality unique mosaic. Each gold leaf is placed between a transparent glass base and a fine, neutral or coloured glass top which protects the surface. The beautiful glass then creates a thin bubble, called Sbruffo, and the glass is heated again to fuse the pieces together, resulting in single tessera that is free of cracks and gives a gorgeous finish.

Orsoni still uses the same ancient process of glass making but is able to reflect today's desires for varied colours with the gold leaf tesserae portfolio offering 32 different gold hues.
