A new Abode (albeit brief!) for needy children

* Darren-Holliday_Abode-Safe-Anchor-Trust.jpgThe Safe Anchor Trust is an award winning charity based at Shepley Bridge Marina in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. Les Moss, founder of the charity and his team provide an annual programme of canal trips aboard narrow boats on the local waterways, specifically for special needs groups, those with health and mobility problems and socially disadvantaged groups.

Each year at Christmas-time, the Trust takes a number of children aboard on a special boat trip to meet Santa in his Grotto, and this year Abode has given £1,500 to buy extra special presents for the children.

Darren Holliday, Managing Director of Abode comments: "All too often charitable donations are for projects overseas, but this local project, I believe, is a worthy cause and provides much needed joy to children in our locality. Hopefully it will bring happiness on the day for lots of people.

"We applaud The Safe Anchor Trust which also provides education and training opportunities for young people and gives young offenders a second chance by taking them on board to help out and take responsibility for the children. We wish them every success and hope everyone enjoys their Christmas Santa trip".
