GDHA supports retailers' open evening

Customers at award-winning electrical retailer Barretts Digital World were treated to a mouthwatering cookery masterclass by celebrity chef Brian Turner during a recent open evening.

More than 200 customers attended the event at Barretts in Canterbury, and helped to raise £350 for the local branch of the NSPCC.

Brian Turner, brand ambassador for cooking appliance brands Stoves and Belling, whipped up a three course feast during a live cooking demonstration - with customers able to sample seared scallops, English lamb, stuffed kidneys and a special toad-in-the-hole created to celebrate British Sausage Week.

Master Baker, and star of TV's The Great British Bake Off, Paul Hollywood also lent his support to the event.

"Supporting our retailers is a key part of our ongoing strategy and we were delighted to be able to help Shaun create this fantastic in-store event," says Rob Burton, commercial manager for range at Glen Dimplex Homes Appliances, said. "The evening was a great success and we're delighted that the NSPCC has also benefitted."

Managing Director of Barretts, Shaun Barrett, is also delighted at the success of the event. "It was brilliant to welcome Brian Turner into our showroom again and his presence definitely helped to make it a successful night," he enthuses.

"We were especially pleased that, as well as sampling Brian's dishes and picking up some bargains, we were able to raise £350 for the NSPCC though our raffle."
