New kitchen for FIRA - sponsored by Homebase

FIRA International, the world's leading independent furniture technology centre, has officially opened its refurbished staff kitchen, sponsored by Homebase.

Gordon McLaren, Head of Showroom for Homebase, visited FIRA on 21st August to officially open the kitchen, unveiling a plaque thanking Homebase for its support in the refurbishment of the facilities.

FIRA has worked with Homebase for a number of years, with Homebase becoming FIRA Gold accredited for its kitchen installation service in 2007 - and its kitchen products in 2011, making it the only kitchen retailer to hold both types of FIRA Gold Certification. Homebase is also a long standing member of The Furniture Ombudsman, which is based within the FIRA building.

"Throughout the FIRA building we like to showcase furniture items from our members and we are very pleased that we have been able to work with Homebase to install a new kitchen," said Phil Reynolds, FIRA's Chief Operating Officer, at the unveiling. "As the kitchen is FIRA certified, we can be sure that it will be long lasting and fit-for-purpose for our staff to use for years to come.

Gordon McLaren said: "We are extremely proud of our FIRA certifications and our The Furniture Ombudsman membership which demonstrates our commitment to both the quality of our products and the service to our customers.

"We were very pleased to be able to assist FIRA with this project, and hope all the staff at Stevenage HQ enjoy using the facilities.
