The Furniture Ombudsman and Office of Fair Trading working together
The Furniture Ombudsman is working with The Office of Fair Trading to assist businesses and consumers of the furniture and home improvement industries to understand more fully their legal rights.
On TFO's website, a page linked to the OFT logo provides a number of resources, including a selection of videos that provide information on consumer law and where further information can be obtained. There are also links to interactive tools that provide information on compliance with the Sale of Goods Act and Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations. These include detailed guidance, practical case studies and the option to register for further updates and additional material.
"We are always pleased to work closely with the Office of Fair Trading in any way that encourages retailers and consumers to understand better how the law works in practice," says Kevin Grix at the Furniture Ombudsman. " Through hosting these OFT resources, we are able to increase awareness and compliance with these areas of legislation, and we hope to be collaborating further on this page in the future."
