Ellis Furniture backs Multiple Sclerosis Society bike ride

* Isobel_and_Richard-Ellis.jpgEllis Furniture has teamed up with some of its suppliers, including MFC supplier Egger, to support joint managing director's daughter, Isobel Ellis, in her quest to raise much needed funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

16-year old Isobel recently raised more than £16,000 (smashing her original target of £5,000) for the charity after completing a gruelling six-day bike ride from Huddersfield to Salcombe. Ellis Furniture director Richard Ellis joined his daughter for the second half of the bike ride.

Pedalling for a total of 30 hours, Isobel battled through two falls, numerous bandages, 12 pain killers, and 525 kilometres to reach the finish line.

Richard comments:

"Isobel set herself a mission to raise much needed funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and being a very proud father I was happy to get out there on my bike and lend moral support. Whilst it was Isobel out there pedalling the long road, it couldn't have been achieved without the very generous support of her sponsors' contributions to the charity."

The £16,000 will be used by the Multiple Sclerosis Society to help fund MS research.

"The work of the Multiple Sclerosis Society is invaluable for finding a cure to what is a very debilitating condition and one close to our hearts. The money raised by Isobel will be put to excellent use," says Richard.
