Hotpoint Active Oxygen fridge freezer wages war on waste

* Hotpint-active oxygen.jpgConsumers can step up the war on wasted food with the innovative new freestanding Active Oxygen fridge freezer from Hotpoint.

Available through UK independent retailers from May, the Hotpoint Combi FFFL1810PO3 features Hotpoint's innovative Active Oxygen technology that offers High Definition Cooling to naturally preserve 'first day' food freshness and reduce harmful bacteria and odours, 24 hours a day, keeping food fresher for longer.

Active Oxygen uses trioxygen (O3) molecules, well known for their ability to inhibit and slow bacteria growth, to preserve food. By releasing these natural molecules into the atmosphere of the fridge, the technology will help fresh food t last up to nine days with that first day freshness. Food that's been stored for nine days will have up to 90% less bacterial growth and bad odours will be reduced by up to 70%.

This reduction in bad odours means smells are not transferred from one food to another, leaving you safe in the knowledge that your raspberries will not be tainted with 'eau de camembert'!

Hotpoint's 'Hygiene +' antibacterial protection is also built into the fridge liners, giving protection for the life of the product. Working between normal cleanings, this acts alongside the Active Oxygen technology to inhibit the growth of potentially harmful bacteria and reduce odours.

The appliance has a flat fronted door profile with distinctive recessed vertical edges, designed by renowned designer Makio Hasuike, so it'll make a stylish focal point for any contemporary kitchen.

The A+ energy rated fridge and freezer sections have a gross capacity of 184 litres and 113 litres respectively,
