Leisure Sinks supports mandatory CE marking

Leisure-Sinks-CONTOUR.jpgLeisure Sinks has announced its support for the mandatory CE marking for kitchen sinks..

From July 2013, all kitchen sinks will need to carry CE marking, in accordance with the Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC). CE marking needs to be affixed to product packaging, as well as any accompanying documents. Failure to do so will mean that sinks are no longer eligible for sale within the EU.

John Peter, Trade Sales Director at Leisure Sinks, comments: "As a responsible manufacturer and supplier of high-quality domestic sinks, we are extremely pleased with the impending mandatory requirement for CE marking, which necessitates certification to the Construction Products Directive.

"While the new CE marking criteria verifies products meet BS EN standards, it is worth noting that it is not a quality mark - separate Quality Certification is required for this. At Leisure Sinks, we are proud to have BSI Kitemark credentials on seven of our sinks, further highlighting our credentials as a manufacturer of high quality, well-constructed and long-lasting products."

Leisure Sinks' Kitemark collection highlights commitment to producing high quality, well-made sinks. Audited to the highest manufacturing standards and quality management systems, all its BSI Kitemark sinks, including models from the Linear, Lexin and Contract ranges, are manufactured from high grade 18/10 steel to ensure a robust, rigid frame that won't bend or flex under pressure.

CE marking requires all sinks manufactured within the EU to have a label affixed to the sink itself (CE mark / name of manufacturer / European Standard - EN13310: 2003), as well as included on the packaging and instructions.

Leisure Sinks, which is part of AGA Rangemaster, is the biggest manufacturer of domestic stainless steel sinks in the UK, and 2013 sees the company celebrate its 80th anniversary. The brand has built its reputation on quality, consistency and longevity. Its stainless steel designs suit both modern and traditional homes and come with a 10-year guarantee - which means end users and installers can trust Leisure Sinks to provide perfect performance every time.
