Blanco makes style statement at KBB

John was particularly taken with this worktop - the latest addition to the Blanco Steelart line. Durinox is a new material designed for the exclusive custom-made worktop range.

"Durinox worktops are, on average, more than twice as resilient as other conventional stainless steel options while maintaining aesthetic quality and the same proven positive characteristics such as hygiene and durability," said the company's Meyrem Tuft, who went on to explain that Blanco employs an impressive finishing method from aerospace technology for the new material that has never been used before in the production of kitchen worktops.

"The results are overwhelming to achieve the highest-ever degree of strength for uncoated, pure stainless steel worktops," she said.

Durinox offers clients endless possibilities for exceptional kitchen designs with exquisite stainless steel worktops. The range of Steelart worktops is now available in a total of three finishes - Durinox, satin polish and silk matt - offering designers a range of materials and finishes that has never been seen before.

The combination of the Blanco Zerox weld-in bowls, Linee-S mixer tap with a Durinox surface can achieve an all-round harmonious appearance.

We also had a close look at some of the company's latest high quality sinks, taps and extractor hoods with some impressive lighting options.

Meyrem told us there had been a lot of interest in the new Yova XL 6 S Silgranit PuraDur II sink and BlancoYovis-S mixer tap and it's easy to see why.

The sink is gently curved with overlapping contours and features generous corner radii. The attractive eye-catcher is the subtle, organic 'crest of a wave' that surrounds the bowl and slightly lower drainer. The two functional areas are divided into two equally-sized squares with the tap ledge positioned in the middle as both the dividing and connecting element between the bowl and the drainer. An ash compound chopping board is available which fits on the drainer.

The sink is made from tough hardwearing Silgranit, is easy to maintain and has a hygienic protection, Hygiene +Plus, which provides a unique antibacterial finish. The Yova XL 6 S is supplied with the food board and waste kit and is available in a range of colours.

Blanco Andano collection of stainless steel sinks were also on display. There are 23 sinks in the range with five new models added - three single bowls and two double bowls - each with an integrated tap ledge. The sinks are highly functional with a bowl depth of 190mm and the corner and base radii sit well with the satin polish surface.
