Voting open for Magnet Trade's Community Champions

Magnet Trade has launched 'Community Champions', a national campaign that will see 10 community causes across the UK rewarded with cash prizes.

A total of 169 charities, each representing a local Magnet Trade store, have been challenged to describe what makes them a 'Magnet of the community', with £10,000 split regionally between the 10 most voted for causes, and an additional £1,000 awarded to the public's overall favourite.

Voting is now open at magnettrade until 31 March.

Builder, baker (...not candlestick maker!) and Bake Off star, Richard Burr, is the face of the campaign, so the overall winner can also expect a visit from him bearing a very special Community Champions cake!

"I've been a customer at Magnet Trade for quite some time, so it's great to be supporting this worthwhile campaign which rewards unsung community heroes," says Richard. "I urge everyone, tradesperson or not, to visit the website and cast your vote to support a community champion in your area!"

Alison Coleman, Magnet Trade's marketing manager, adds: "In recent years, we've seen an increase in our staff taking up charity and community challenges to raise money. So, Community Champions is our way of acknowledging the efforts of our staff and rewarding local good causes close to our trade stores."
