Major milestone for British manufacturing as Triton turns 40 and appoints new MD

* David-Tutton_Triton.jpgTriton is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year and following 17 years of consistent growth under the leadership of its present managing director, Lorna Fellowes, the company has announced the appointment of business development director, David Tutton, to the position of managing director, from July onwards.

Since joining the business as marketing director in 1992, Lorna has played a central role in Triton's success story. Promoted to the position of managing director in 1999, Lorna became one of only a handful of women to occupy leading positions within the bathroom industry at the time.

Her passion for marketing, new product development and customer service excellence has enabled Triton to go from strength to strength over the years, resulting in the company becoming one of the largest employers in Nuneaton with over 350 people working across all areas of the business today.

As Lorna hands over the leadership of Triton to her successor, her next step will be to embark upon a new role as an advisor to the Norcros Group, which will see her draw upon years of valuable insight and industry experience to play an integral role in the long term strategic development of the organisation.

As Lorna begins her new role at group level, David Tutton plans to provide continuity while building on the achievements of the past 40 years to ensure Triton continues to grow market share across the UK and internationally - exporting to South Africa, America and Asia as well as the UK and Eire.
Before joining Triton in 2014, David worked for other leading brand names including Astracast and Jacuzzi. He has spent the past 15 months as business development director focusing on securing the widest possible distribution for Triton's comprehensive product range.

On becoming managing director, David said: "Stability is so important for any organisation, which is why I am especially proud that Triton has the solid foundations of the past four decades as a market leading shower manufacturer to build on. As we begin to celebrate our 40th anniversary this year, my focus for the immediate future and longer term will be to build on Lorna's strong leadership and everything that has been accomplished as a result of the very clear direction she has given.

"My pledge is to protect our core competencies including product innovation and development, as well as customer service, for which Triton is well known. I will continue to concentrate on maintaining and forging close relationships with our customers throughout the supply chain, from builders' merchants and wholesalers, right through to the installers, specifiers and retailers who are so vital for the continued recommendation of our brand.
"The great news is we have all the right systems and processes already in place to deliver on our core values of ease of installation, reliability, quality, efficiency and affordable style. This provides a solid starting point for the next phase of Triton's history and also means we can put all our energy into concentrating on the future and moving forward with ambitious plans."

On beginning her new role, Lorna commented: "Over the past 23 years at Triton I have seen the business grow and develop beyond expectations within the Norcros Group. Today, our brand is synonymous with the best of British manufacturing and I am proud to say that one in every three showers installed in UK bathrooms is now a Triton product.

"My career has been about delivering excellence at every level and I have invested a great deal of time and energy into achieving that with the help of everyone across the business. The result of our efforts is a company with strong values, market leading products and services and 40 years of consistent growth from humble beginnings when the business began in 1975 with just six employees manufacturing one shower model from a garage unit in Atherstone.

"Under David's capable leadership the company will continue to grow while staying true to our core values. I wish him all the very best of luck and it will be a pleasure to continue working with him in my new role at group level, during what looks set to be an exciting time for everyone at Triton."
